    I'm trying to see if, for example A1:C1 occurs in F1:H1 or F2:H2 or F3:H3. Similarly I want to know if A2:C2 occurs in F1:H1 or F2:H2 or F3:H3, etc.

    I found that just as (2) puts the value 1 row below the last cell, (5) puts it 4 below, even if there are black cells between previous enttries.
