  1. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

Let's be clear. Every program is dependency needed, e.g. kernel32.dll
So, if it is "been built into the OS" as a part of fresh (not updated) OS, we can call it "no need dependency".
  2. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

    - easy to code simple things.
    - no dependencies needed (like .NET, MS VC++ ...).
    - wide range OS compatibility in one EXE (Win 2k-10).
    - little size of program.
    - fast execution.

    Thanks.
  9. Re: [RESOLVED] How to make modeless window to be topmost relative to parent only?

Victor Bravo VI, I need the form initially start hidden and become visible only by my request.
  10. Re: How to make modeless window to be topmost relative to parent only?

    ohh, nice, Elroy. It's work.

Previously I tried almost the same: I used:

Private Declare Function SetParent Lib "User32.dll" (ByVal hWndChild As Long, ByVal hWndNewParent As Long) As Long
    ...
  11. Re: How to make modeless window to be topmost relative to parent only?

    Thank you. It's work.

But, is it possible to set owner dynamically?

    In real task, I'm using

    Load Form2

to load form initially in hidden state.
  12. [RESOLVED] How to make modeless window to be topmost relative to parent only?

Hi, I would like my second form to be always on top of first form (not system wide topmost).

    How can I do that?

    I tried:

    Private Sub Command1_Click()
    MsgBox "Action"
    End Sub

    Re: [VB6] Register local hotkey

Ok, KeyCode = 0 and KeyAscii = 0 is not needed.
As well as hook and subclassing is not needed.

I just set KeyPreview to true, as you said, and now I get key code directly in Form_KeyDown...

    Thank you.

Dunno, I set KeyPreview property to true. Also, I added code to my above project:
