  1. Where is the new Excel workbook created when Access 2000 inside a VS 2005 project?

I recently found out that I can publish a VS 2005 project with all necessary files, like Access 2000 mdb file.
I am using VBA code inside this mdb file to get some data from linked tables and...
  2. Re: Oppening old mdb file(Access 2000) with Access 2016 disables workings of Access 2

    Do you mean in

Access 2000 it should be Microsoft Access 9.0 Object Library

    and in

Access 2016 it should be Microsoft Office Access 16.0 database engine object library

    in VBA IDE?
  3. Oppening old mdb file(Access 2000) with Access 2016 disables workings of Access 2000?

We installed new Access 2016, and we also still use old mdb files with Access 2000. Though old mdb files open in Access 2016, after using it, somehow Office re-configures itself to work with Access...
  4. Re: ADODB.RecordSet lists only the last few rows after deletion and adding new rows?

Yes, if I could get a certain page of the table without altering, that would be nice. But I think there is not simple way to do that in Access 2000, unless you have a column which is AutoNumber.
  5. Re: ADODB.RecordSet lists only the last few rows after deletion and adding new rows?

Turns out, I needed to use a function that exists in MS SQL server, and its called "truncate". It deletes all rows but also resets the AutoIncrement field.

I did this in Jet SQL aka SQL in Access...
  6. ADODB.RecordSet lists only the last few rows after deletion and adding new rows?

I have a table which has 40000 rows. I need to take all of them and run check on one particular column(filed).
I am fetching them inside a RecordSet and after I run the check, the ones which...
  7. Re: Is it possible to prevent another keypress event after one key is already pressed

VB6 and VB.NET events are alike. I just removed the nasty OnValidate() aka LostFocus() events which printed an error message window when wrong value was entered. Guess what, you couldn't move your...
  8. Re: Is it possible to prevent another keypress event after one key is already pressed

There is not a bug. The program works as expected given that at some point the buttons are being pressed and released one after the other.
The application was old and badly made. Had to rework...
  9. Is it possible to prevent another keypress event after one key is already pressed?

I am developing a VB.NET data entry application and some of the data entry clerks are very fast when it comes to typing letters on keyboard.
One of them constantly presses two buttons one after the...
  10. Re: Why this function doesn't report exception to the given status bar?

ADO.NET and maybe C# in future versions of the application.
As for the status bar, I truly didn't think of the message being sent to ToolStripStatusLabel component can be too long so it doesn't fit...

  12. Re: Why this function doesn't report exception to the given status bar?

No, i removed the breakpoints, but still no text in the status bar label :)

    I am missing something.
  13. Re: Why this function doesn't report exception to the given status bar?

Why do I don't see the text in the status bar? Damn!
  14. Re: Why this function doesn't report exception to the given status bar?

ADO.NET is for some of the future versions of the application. Even switching to C#. But ADO.NET is used with C# as well.

The code breaks after i call

    if recordSetObject.EOF then
    ' do...
  15. Re: Why this function doesn't report exception to the given status bar?

Hmm, tried with ByRef. It doesn't make a difference.

Well it seems that the ToolStripStatusLabel.Text gets set with the error message. The thing is I don't see the text afterwards.
  16. Why this function doesn't report exception to the given status bar?

I am making my own utils project with static functions to use. I have this utility function:

Public Sub OpenRecordSetForwardReadOnly(ByRef recordSet As ADODB.Recordset, ByVal sql As String,...

  25. Re: How to disallow non-numeric letters in WinForms TextBox?

Well if it is like a numeric picker component, that wouldn't be good since it is a data entry application and entering data should be fast.
