  2. Re: Your first BASIC computer? Has your software survived?

TI 99 4/A, then spectrum 48, PC XT, Atari ST, Amiga, 286, 386, 486 etc...

I wrote some games in Basic with the TI 99/4A and started my first sold app on the XT in Turbo Pascal.

  3. Re: Automatic "pretty listing" (reformatting) of code in VB6

Rubberduck is not so bad also, but totally slow and not working on big projects.
On my projects (quite big), it crashes and takes toomuch time to load
  4. Re: Automatic "pretty listing" (reformatting) of code in VB6

    TTn, yes :)
I was belong the first to develop addin for VB6 (and other stuff too)
  5. Re: Automatic "pretty listing" (reformatting) of code in VB6

Not, it is not automatic, but a click on the button in the toolbar can indent procedure or module.
And in the menu, the whole project.

Beside, yoou have alot of very usefull options.
  6. Re: Automatic "pretty listing" (reformatting) of code in VB6

VBIDEUtils does it very well, and many more things.
I use it everyday (of course, I wrote it also)

Search on the forum, you'll have the link for the sources, as it is now open source
  7. Re: Looking for advice on 64-Bit COM

Good post, as like dreammanor is saying we will face more & more this in the future and finding a generic solution will be good.
I also begin to face the same problem with Outlook or Excel :(
    the...
  8. Re: How about we make a VB7 (upgrade version of VB6)

Olaf, I think the IDE is not the most important.
How many people are still coding (not only VB6) using Notepad?
Sometimes I use Notepad ++ to go faster in development, not only VB6 but other...
  9. Re: How about we make a VB7 (upgrade version of VB6)

Instead of wishing writing a new IDE.

I think the MOST import is the compiler.
If we could have a compiler that could compile VB6 to 32 & 64 bits.

Then after, it will be easier to enhance the...
  10. Poll: Re: Do you use the VB6 IDE in MDI or SDI mode?

    yep :)
  11. Poll: Re: Do you use the VB6 IDE in MDI or SDI mode?

MDI for me, and I have 4 monitors.
But I used them for outlook, excel, and other app.
I wish to connet 9 monitors to my laptop (one day)

The problem with SDI , is that you see other apps behind....
  12. Re: Add-In to draw rectangle on IDE designer forms

I tried in SDI and it works.
But as mainly almost all people are using VB6 in MDI, it will be very usefull in MID

  17. Re: How to access object in collection more quickly

  18. Re: How to access object in collection more quickly

Here is the result on my computer.
I also added the test on my own class_Collection (heavilly used) wich implements more things (like dictionnary), and seems slower when retrieving by a key.
    I will...
  19. Re: [RESOLVED] Store object to database fields: XML or JSON?

The main interest of keeping line number, is that when I have an error reported, I can go directly to the right procedure & line.
    And adding/removing line is fast
  20. Re: Store object to database fields: XML or JSON?

NB : I manage several projects of more than 1 Million lines, and I automated the max for generic coding
  21. Re: Store object to database fields: XML or JSON?

wqweto, I use my VBIDEUtils that remove & add automatically line numbers, and add automatic error handler
    So I don't care :)
  22. Re: Store object to database fields: XML or JSON?

For a better reading, encapsulate the code to create/Update/retriev data into functions.
    My code looks like :

    128 Set oTmp = XML_CreateElement(oXMLDocument, oPaiements,...
  23. Re: Store object to database fields: XML or JSON?

Personally, I do this all the time, so I can store some minor informations without modifying the layout of the DB.
And I prefer FAR away XML as it is more easy to manage in VB6, rather than JSon

    Exactly Peter.

What I would like to knwo it is if someone already wrote code to interpret those files?
    And eventually generate those files?
