Re: VB6-compiled apps being flagged as virus

For me, last year, it was like loads of antivirus programs (including Windows Defender which was most unusual) were flagging my software, while this year it has all gone away.
    The software didn't...

    Re: Modifying old VB6 code

The late 80s was the first time I can remember hearing about audio CDs. The big selling point was how much more durable they were than vinyl records, no chance of them getting scratched etc.

    Re: Modifying old VB6 code

For interest's sake I just looked on ebay and saw one for sale still sealed in its box.
That's how I bought mine, but that was years ago.
I presume the CDs would still be OK after all these years...

  7. Re: Parentheses around argument of Sub changes behaviour from ByRef to ByVal

Thanks again guys, it's amazing how long I managed to breeze along not knowing something so fundamental. :)
  8. Re: Parentheses around argument of Sub changes behaviour from ByRef to ByVal

Sorry I know I am possibly coming across as a bit thick here, but you had to introduce double parentheses to cause evaluation of the contents for a function call.
So the outer set of parentheses in...
  9. Re: Parentheses around argument of Sub changes behaviour from ByRef to ByVal

Thanks Elroy and Dilettante, I get it now.
The only thing that still bothers me is that if I alter the procedure to a function it doesn't do the evaluation?
    As in
