    OK sorry my mistake, i wrote the above from memory, the string was

    mydate = CDate(datstr)

    Ok tested changing Canada to usa and works with the latter.

    Another machine seems to expect dd/MM/yyyy

    So when I send as an example 1/29/2012 it fails as MM can't accept 29 as a month
