    Re: Different mobile development options

Sites like Meetup.com are what I use here in the United States. There are a couple of others similar sites took but that one is the one most groups are using now.

    Re: what makes developers tick?

That's what they said when 2D scanners were created and then sold. Now nearly every 'desktop' printer has a scanner. Same principles apply to 3D that applied to 2D.

    Re: Different mobile development options

What type of mobile development are you wanting to do? That will impact what makes the most sense. Xamarin is very popular right now and Phonegap was previously the top dog. As such, either are...

Great information. There are a lot of side discussions I'd like to start, but will bite my tongue and keep the focus on the questions at hand. I hope others are finding the responses interesting as...

Thanks for the responses so far - it is still early, so I expect there will be more.

Let me add a couple of add-on questions that are a little more specific....

    what makes developers tick?

I'm putting this in chit chat because I'd like frank open answers. My question is, however, serious and one asked of me.

The question was "what makes developers tick?" This is particularly...

    Re: Sticky Thread Needed

I see this not going well. I think you are going to find that the list / thread gets spammed with every individual's site that is even remotely related.
  9. Re: Thread Display Options - Show Threads...

The default thread date range (or whatever it is called) is NOT the same for each forum. On newer forums, we set it to "from the beginning" until there are a lot of threads. On other forums, the...

  13. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

    TL:DR

This thread has been brought to my attention. Let me discussion offline with a few people over the next day or two (my schedule is packed right now) and there is a lot here.

    As stated,...
  14. Re: Can we improve VBForums Star Rating system?

    I'm with Steve.... ;) :)

The most common five star rating used today is Amazon and most people think of them in the same way they are applied on Amazon, which means 1 is bad and 5 is good. Sure,...
  15. Re: Can we improve VBForums Star Rating system?

I don't think it is indicative of the thought that has gone into the thread rating system, but rather it is more indicative of the use that the system has received. The feature seems pretty...
  16. Re: Can we improve VBForums Star Rating system?

I just rated this thread as terrible too.

    Totally personal.... :D ;)

  18. Re: Hover over thread title to show first line of post

There are definitely pros and cons to the feature. We weighed them and determined leaving it off was what made the most sense.

I'm sorry are you saying something.... ;) :D

We didn't completely ignore you. It is/was really a matter of priorities and developer/tech time.

  22. Re: why isn't there a code-tag button in the quick reply?

I believe that is actually a cut of VB..... That's the highlight tag.
  23. Re: why isn't there a code-tag button in the quick reply?

so much for the idea of waiting to see if they notice.... ;)
  24. Re: why isn't there a code-tag button in the quick reply?

It simply wasn't included by the developers of this software in the quick reply box. This is third party software - we didn't write it. You can simply type the code tags in.

  32. Re: Am I allowed to correct bad rendering myself ?

  33. Re: Am I allowed to correct bad rendering myself ?

You're actually kind of wrong on this....

1280 is kind of a lowest resolution often used on web sites that are aimed at desktop browsers. 1024 had been the lowest. The reality on sites I run...

  35. Re: Am I allowed to correct bad rendering myself ?

Actually, we can iconize included images and do some other things to reduce the maximum width if that is a problem.

Of course, like the others said, on my notebook, I have no issue on the above...
  36. Re: Am I allowed to correct bad rendering myself ?
