    I don't know about using a bindingsource sort method but as jmc suggest in post #4 you can just sort the datatables using the defaultview.

    This works,

    Well, I checked the database that you uploaded in an early post and spotted a problem.

    the field names are not ResidentMinFee and NonResidentMinFee, unless you've changed them.

    That's your problem then, your trying to compare a String to a Number. You need to remove the single quotes in your select statement.

    Actually I think tg was on the right track (even though he used mdf instead of mdb). :)

    You use the Ace engine in the form load "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" and the Jet engine in the button click...

    Don't think that's the problem, both file types work for me.

    What about the "objExcel.ActiveWorkbook.Path" member? Does your version support that?

    Interestingly, you can't set the "Checked" property of "con" with Strict On. You have to convert con from type Conrol, to Type CheckBox,

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but why can't you just check the value in the textbox directly. Also, if you don't want the user to enter the textbox then set the Enabled property to false.
