(bump) Volume peak meter using WaveOut()???
Hi:wave: I have made an mp3 player which works well.
It would be very cool to also have a volume meter, which gives me the peak value (left+right) of the MP3 that is currently being played.
Really embarassing, I've made a stupid mistake which caused this problem...
My 'for...to' loop only went to 68 instead of 69, the array size.
So the last array element didn't get...
Sorry, forgot to mention that 'obj' is Nothing.
I'm not a very advanced here, can you try to help me fix it?
I have an array that contains elements of the type 'Song', see below.
Public Class Song
Implements IComparable(Of Song)
Private _oldtitle As String
Private _title As...
Thank you! :bigyello:
I use the BinaryWriter class to save every 3rd column in a listview to a file.
Dim sw As New IO.BinaryWriter(IO.File.Open(SaveFileDialog1.FileName, IO.FileMode.OpenOrCreate))
For Each item...
Thanks to you both :D
I forgot to make the hex string 2 characters long (silly me).
Problem solved ! :)
I am writing a note program, and it saves the note contents into a file.
I use these 2 subs (ECString to convert the string to hex string and DCString to convert it back into a human...
I will try that, however, it will take a while because it's too expensive where I live and I can't buy it online... :S
But thanks for your help, now at least I know what the source of the...
No, it isn't.
I got it from a friend, and I assumed it would be but it wasn't.
The (black) desktop says "This copy of Windows is not genuine."
Could that be the source of the problem?
So could it have something to do with my Windows 7 installation disc?
Because I did a fresh reinstall on an empty partition and VB threw errors.
I made quite a mess of this thread I think :)
The link in post #6 describes my workaround for the installation problem in that thread.
After that VB2010 never worked because I kept getting this...
It says 'There are no known issues' under every Visual Basic 2010 express section.
The link doesn't work?
The website where I downloaded it from (http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/downloads) doesn't mention the installer size.
But every Visual Studio install (2010, 2010 Express, 2012, 2012...
What do you mean by 'how big it says the file is supposed to be'?
Didn't work :(
Sorry for the late reply!
Well, I've installed Windows 7 on a new partition.
First thing I did was run the Visual Basic 2010 Express installer.
After downloading all the necessary files it...
No, could that be the cause of the problem?
No, the only text in the error box is "Type initializer for <Module> threw an exception".
No, only the error message itself and the OK and Cancel button.
Wow. I have the same mscoree.dll version as you, and yet it doesn't work for me...
Could the problem be something else rather than mscoree.dll?
But I'm using Windows 7, that's not the same as Vista.
Didn't work either, tried that a couple of times a few days ago.
I can't find the .NET framework 4.0.4.035.0 installer, as mentioned in post #7.
What should I do now?
I tried everything and nothing works... :(
Sorry, I haven't been very clear.
See my previous thread (http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?725839-RESOLVED-VB2010-Express-install-error-2908-amp-1935).
I had recently installed .NET...
Well, what i could try, is replacing the system32\mscoree.dll file with version 4.0.30319, my current .NET version.
Because when I install .NET 4.0 the system32\mscoree.dll file doesn't update to...
I already have installed Windows 7 from scratch.
When I launch VB2010 Express, I get an error message saying "Type initializer for <Module> threw an exception".
I think it has something to do with the .NET framework, but I'm not sure.
It works!!! :D
Thank you SO much! :thumb:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mscoree.dll was the problem.
See, I have .NET framework 4.0 installed and the version of this file was not 4.0 but 2.0....
I hope this is the right forum section, and if not, I'm sorry.
I can't install Visual Basic 2010 express because I keep getting error 2908 a couple of times and finally an error 1935,...
Hey, thanks, it works! :bigyello:
One more question though, why is Rnd bad?
This is my code to select a random item in a listview:
Dim tmp As Integer
tmp = Rnd() * ListView2.Items.Count - 1
ListView2.Items(tmp).Selected = True
Hey, it works! Thanks!!! :D
OK, thanks, I'll try VBScript right now.
Yeah, but I'm using a string variable (the text from a textbox), so removing the quotes is not an option,
and Val() doesn't work for that too. :(
Sorry, I should have mentioned this before. :o
Dim ScriptControl As New MSScriptControl.ScriptControl
Dim Temp As Double
Temp = ScriptControl.Eval("5^2")
