I didn't say anything about code; I want to see your actual SQL. I see column names and variables in a big string. That is really something you shouldn't be doing in the first place. You may want...

    Re: Insert into sql db

Well two things come to mind...

    1. What is the error?
    2. Show us the actual SQL not your variables. If you don't know how to do that let me know.

Re: VB6 and Crystal Report 8 in window 7

Try running it outside VB if you can. I suppose part of doing that is how it is set up though. Almost all of ours execute a stored procedure. We can open up the report, point at the ODBC...
  14. VS 2010 Re: Getting 'syntax error in INSERT INTO statement' when trying to insert to MS Acces

Not really MS SQL can be more forgiving than others. Try this:

    create table ##VBForums(DateTime DateTime)
    insert into ##VbForums(datetime) Values(getdate())
    select * from ##VBForums
    drop table...
  15. VS 2010 Re: Getting 'syntax error in INSERT INTO statement' when trying to insert to MS Acces

Check and see if you are using any reserved words as column names. I don't know MS Access but that can cause issues on other DBMS software.

Could you be more specific then "crashing my app"?

What is the error(s)? My guess is you are missing some of the run time binaries.

I think you will need to:

Here a some examples of reading writing text:

I'm not sure what "change it later on the TextBox" means.
  20. Re: Getting Mysql syntax error where there wasn't one before...

I think you just nailed it. In MS SQL you would enclose it in brackets. I don't know MySQL.
  21. Re: Getting Mysql syntax error where there wasn't one before...

I apologize...I didn't see that. I give that little lecture so much I didn't look for it there :o

Can you try it in a query window instead of the program? It might seem more obvious there.
