    Re: Maintaining commit-ment?

There needs to be some reward. It doesn't have to be financial but it does need to be something that gives you an emotional pay off. It might be money, or it might be the chance to learn something...
  2. Re: Bulk Insert Of Data [SQL Server 2008 r2]

Where's the data currently? If it's in anything that can be accessed as an ODBC or OLEDB data source then you can just use the import wizard in management studio.
  3. Re: Compare input values with database values

OK, without knowing what database your using and what language you're using for the front end it's hard to give you precise advice but I'd start by looking through the Database FAQs we have here.

  4. VS 2013 Re: Which event raised the event procedure?

The more I think about this the more I think we're probably kicking some bad design down the road.

Why do you want to know which event fired the sub? The sub should have a single behaviour...

  6. Re: Compare input values with database values

You're question is way to broad and is unlikely to get many useful answers. Try to ask something more specific. What have you done so far? Do you know how to create a client project? Do you know...

    Also, don't car-pool.
  9. VS 2010 Re: face recognition for log in and log out with mysql

Are you actually hoping to implement the facial recognition yourself, because that's a huge undertaking. I'd suggest you'd be far better off using a third party product for that.

Re: Help JR Lose Weight For The Wedding!

I lost Ł50 just last week. It was very annoying.
  11. Re: Creating an .MSI file with Visual Basic with InstallShield Limited Edition

    Moved to deployment section.

Have you considered using the deployment projects that come with visual studio? They create MSIs and well as setup.exes

    Re: Detect empty "double" datafields

Well you've got me stumped too. It certainly looks right.

Just for giggles, put a break point on that if statement and check the value of DBase.Fields("DB_Value").Value. Check it both by...
  13. VS 2013 Re: Which event raised the event procedure?

Well you'd have all your functionality in a single sub. The event handlers would be simple pass-through methods who's only responsibility would be to identify which event was being fired.
  14. VS 2013 Re: Which event raised the event procedure?

I don't think you can tell which event fired it. The sender parameter will tell you which control raised the event but if your sub is the handler several events for the same control with the same...

    Re: Detect empty "double" datafields

if Variable = NULL then Variable = default else Variable = DB.Fields("DB_Field")
    Shouldn't that be :-

    if DB.Fields("DB_Field") = NULL then Variable = default else Variable = DB.Fields("DB_Field")
  16. Keep label and text box on the same line

I have the following snippet to offer a filter on a Leads screen:-

Moved to .Net. you're likely to get a better response in here.
  18. Re: Sum 2 Tables is there a better way then this?

I've removed your email address from your post. Otherwise it's likely to get picked up by web crawlers and you'll get spam by the bucket load. If you want to give your email address to another...

    Re: summ and check total

I think you want something like:-

    Select Sum(AT.FIELD_TOT), Sum(AP.FIELD_PRICE), iif(Sum(AT.FIELD_TOT)=Sum(AP.FIELD_PRICE), 'no action', 'ko')
    From ANAGRAF_TOTAL AT
    Join ANAGRAF_PRICE AP

    Re: Gifts for March 8

School dinners were still common place in my day so yes, I remember spam fritters all too well. That and corned beef hash. Possibly with a free line of drool from the dinner lady.

    Re: Gifts for March 8

Well, March the 8th is international women's day so if it's spam it's at least topical spam. Also, combining spam and women sounds kinds fun, don't you think?

It probably is spam but I figure...

    Re: Gifts for March 8

I have no idea if this is spam or not so I'm moving it to ChitChat.

I don't give any gifts to the ladies in my life on March 8th. The privilege of knowing me is it's own reward.

    Re: Laptop suggestions

That looks promising but not 100% conclusive. I'll probably try ringing the support line again tonight and see if I can catch someone with an IQ in double figures - just to make sure.
  31. VS 2010 Re: [RESOLVED] "Closest to" in select-case?

What you're describing is called Semantic Reasoning and is usually resolved using a technique called Semantic Networks. There's plenty of literature available on it but you should know going in that...
  32. Re: [RESOLVED] User Control form disappears from Solution Explorer

What probably caused the problem was removing the load event. It's not obvious when you first start working with forms but when open a something in the designer it runs the same code to show it in...

  38. Re: I need help with an sql statement syntax please.

It looks mostly correct to me. The only think I notice is you're not wrapping any of the values in single quotes. That would be correct if they're numbers but if they're text fields you need single...
