    Thanks for the reply!

I have no idea... But thanks for the suggestion. I've already emailed my boss that they looked mutually exclusive so he may not want to go to great lengths. I will...

VS 2012 Create email with link to file

I have a web service that takes an XML string for input and saves the XML to a file. The filename is created from the date and time and a random number generator. The program also edits the XML as...
  3. VS 2012 Re: Now that my web service is running, it stops

Sorry, that was my own oversight that I didn't see the exception. I am setting a timeout value after I instantiate the service:

    webService.Timeout = 999999;
  4. VS 2012 Re: Now that my web service is running, it stops

I am calling the web service from a console application which was catching an exception which I wasn't seeing. So I am in fact timing out with a WebException, The operation has timed out
  5. VS 2012 [RESOLVED] Now that my web service is running, it stops

Hello. This is part two of an earlier thread.

I have web service source code which I am running locally. I wrote a consumer so I can call a web method and walk through the code. (The code is...
  6. VS 2012 Re: How to get started on existing web service code copied locally

Then I had error: Unable to automatically step into server. unable to determine a stopping location
which I determined was because there was no app pool for FW 4.5, which is what I had my solution...
  7. VS 2012 Re: How to get started on existing web service code copied locally

This has to do with my credential problem from post #2. I guess I can't just do this:

    PartnersWS webService = new PartnersWS();

    try
    {
    ...
  8. VS 2012 Re: How to get started on existing web service code copied locally

    I am onto this now:

Unable to automatically step into the server.

I created a consumer in a separate VS solution. I am able to compile the consumer but when I try to run and hit F11 to step...
  9. VS 2012 Re: How to get started on existing web service code copied locally

I tried just hitting F5 and running the web service and I am getting prompted for credentials. So I have asked that question in-house and I'm sure it's nothing you guys can help with. I'll see what...
  10. VS 2012 [RESOLVED] How to get started on existing web service code copied locally

We have a web service running live. Last week, we pulled the source code down to my machine and successfully built it.

My goal is to become familiar with this code and document it. My problem...
  11. Re: Query that finds rows that aren't duplicates

Well, I was looking for something wrong with SM's query because it returned no rows. And FD, yours returns too many (therefore, I know it is returning MenuID's that either have one RetailPct row or...
  12. Re: Query that finds rows that aren't duplicates

That didn't return any rows. Not sure, but I don't think you can throw in "having count(*)" as you did. I usually have the count in the select, like this:

    select (RetailPct), ...
  13. Query that finds rows that aren't duplicates

Can you help me modify this query to return rows that don't have the same RetailPct column?

    Here is the query:

    select distinct rl.RetailPct, rm.MenuID
    from RestaurantLoc rl
    join...

Re: Advice on making application more efficient

Thanks, Funky. I sat with my boss yesterday (my other boss, the technical hands-on one), and we started to look at places where LLBLGen is using a collection (which is good) and places where it's...

Re: Advice on making application more efficient

It is definitely a SQL thing. He said they see it when they do a sql trace, and spikes on my PC would be a good thing to see because that would mean the work was being done locally and not in little...

Re: Advice on making application more efficient

It might not even be that it's hitting the database too often. I believe it's more vague than that - the process is taking up too many resources. So I believe the symptom is that while the process...

Re: Advice on making application more efficient

FWIW, there is a while (true) loop that controls the process. At the bottom of the loop, it sleeps 5 minutes. So there is no timer pop, per se. The service runs, sleeps and "never" stops.

    So if...

Advice on making application more efficient

  22. Re: DevExpress RadioGroupitem - how to select button in code

So I think I see what it is. It is because I am setting .Enabled to False on the next instruction. That is because if the program sets the index to N/A, it doesn't want the user to be able to reset...
  23. [RESOLVED] DevExpress RadioGroupitem - how to select button in code

    [RESOLVED] SQL Query in app.config

  30. Re: Convert DateTime to UNIX TimeStamp in .NET program

I don't know, this just isn't sinking in.

I tried multiplying by 10000000 and I got "value": "9.296208E+22" which seems too large.

Then I tried span.Ticks.ToString() instead of TotalSeconds...

Thank you! Gave it a cursory glance, and it looks nice. I love a useful tool!

  34. Re: Build json string with variable data - PLEASE HELP. NEED ANSWER FAST.

Never mind that I need a quick answer. I'd still like this answered, but for now because I need it quick I am just building the json field by field in a stringbuilder. So put me low on your list :).
