    Re: Comments invited (primary keys)

Ok - I've never in my entire career ever thought of using some type of index method to guarantee that a row of data is unique.

A PK, imo, is all about connecting actions - UPDATE's, DELETE's,...

  3. Re: Problem with Server 2008 Service not starting when computer is restarted

First - I see your windows event log is full. Clear that.

Next time it fails on startup look in the windows event log first, before starting the service - look for errors within those logs.
  4. Re: Problem with Server 2008 Service not starting when computer is restarted

It's getting an error I would assume. It must log it somewhere.

    Can you manually start it?

If so - do that - go into SSMS and look at the log that appear under Management/Sql Server Logs in...

What do you mean by this actually?

The example I spoke of (in post #12) indicated we were not allowed to use a NATURAL key for a PERSON. Using the SSN number is not legal in most states - you...

    Re: Comments invited (primary keys)

SQL Server Management Studio uses the ENTIRE RECORD in it's ORIGINAL form as the WHERE clause for the UPDATE that happens when you walk off a row when EDIT'ing the contents of a table.

Re: SQL 2012 to SQL 2005

  10. Re: ASP.Net 4.5 is JQueryUI included by default

You should be in Firefox using Firebug - and watching all those scripts load or fail as the page initially processes itself into the browser.

  28. VS 2012 Re: Need to create an app that will automatically run another app

    Thanks for the clarification.

Is there a name for this technique - like the technique used on old mainframe apps - "screen scraping"?
  29. VS 2012 Need to create an app that will automatically run another app

So - I'm in need of creating an app that will run another app. Click buttons - pass along data - as if the user was sitting at the PC running that other app and hand entering that data.

    How do I...
