    Re: Variable Problom Again

it "works" because "1976" isn't an integer. It's actually a string... the fact that it happens to look like a number is coincidence. What's happening is that because you defined your variable as an...
  2. Re: VB6 - SQL query using dates (Access Database)

Ok, let's for a moment say todaydate is 12/16/2014 ...

VS 2010 Re: submit excel data into sql database

Could be an extension for a third-party provided system... example, the system we offer our clients is extendable... But in order to do so, you need .NET (VB or C#) ... so I've worked with clients...

    Re: best computer backup solution

A lot of people do... Even I did before I really looked into RAID (I was building a box and the MoBo supported RAID, so I wanted to see if it would be advantageous... turned out it wasn't going to be...

VS 2008 Re: Opacity Of A Panel

WEll sunovagunn... never occurred to me to mess with the alpha channel like that. And yet, once you think about it, makes total sense.

  6. Re: Need to get an average from dataset columns

you could use additional SQL... but there's not much reason to... you have the data in a datatable... use it. Tn probslby showed the most effective way... call the Compute method on the datatable...

    Delete it.

VS 2008 Re: Opacity Of A Panel

I don't think you can. The form has an opacity value, but it applies to the form and all its controls. Panel can be made transparent, but it's all the way transparent or it isn't. It doesn't have an...

    Re: Maximum Yards Returned

I'm not sure I followed. What if the KickingPower was 50 and Power 100 ... what would you expect? What if they were reversed? KP = 100 and P = 50? Would 100,50 and 50,100 result in the same value? or...

    Re: best computer backup solution

Raid is good for redundancy ... not backup. And even then it's only as good as the configuration. Most people don't realize that there are two types, one where the aggregate of multiple drives act as...
  15. Re: How to navigate a form that is larger than the screen?

Maybe a complete UI redesign is needed... design the form targeting the 10 inch screen right from the get-go. If you know that's all the size you have, then that should be the max size of the design....
  16. Re: Where is my salted/hashed password in my DB?

No, it's not quite like that at all... the salt is used by the algorithm to hash the data. So any hashing process needs two pieces of information: the salt, and the data.
What comes out is a hash...

    Re: Justifying text

I'm not sure a TextBox can justify text either, but an RTB should be able to. Make it flat, read-only and it should look just like a label, and you'll even get the added benefit of scrollbars if you...
  20. Re: Need to get an average from dataset columns

There's at least three different ways I can think of to do this:
    1) Brute force - loop through the data, total things up, then calc the average
    2) Sounds like there's a database, so use the...

  28. Re: Where is my salted/hashed password in my DB?

  36. Re: Where is my salted/hashed password in my DB?

You never tell it to hash the password. IT doesn't happen...
  37. Re: Code Missing but form still runs... How can that be possible

  38. Re: VB6: How do I use the DTPicker1 Control?
