    Also looking at the docs for submissions there does seem to be a case where the app can continue in a limited capacity while the screen is locked.

    Just convert your current email to a live id. Go to passport.net. You can use gmail or anything. It doesnt do anything to your existing services it just allows you to login to live enabled services.
