Re: Please help me for optimize my code.

Well you would need to give us some details on what this is supposed to be doing and what some of those values may be. Just looking at the code can't tell much from the code posted. A lot of nested...

Re: Fast count of words in a list

Well using a query would be very quick and simple.

Have you considered opening a recordset directly from the Excel file?
  3. Re: i have Error when i make Send api function the my program donot recvie

A winsock control can be set to listen in TCP mode in which case it will listen for a connection request. Once a request arrives then you either accept it or not. You can choose to stop listening and...
  4. Re: i have Error when i make Send api function the my program donot recvie

Why would you think that? Winsock can send and receive, both the client and the host can send and receive it doesn't matter if it is a single control or a control array. Multiple controls allow you...

Re: Fast count of words in a list

Well while it is true that the performance will be much better if you hide the list box first I doubt that it would take 2.38 minutes to add 10,000 items to the list. It may try to refresh but it...
  6. Re: i have Error when i make Send api function the my program donot recvie

So are you actually getting an error or are you just saying it is an error because you do not get the result you expect?
If you are getting an error tell us what the actual error message is and what...

Re: Fast count of words in a list

For example you might try something like this

    ReDim MyArray(list1.ListCount) As String
    For k = 0 To list1.ListCount - 1
    If list1.List(k) = LastValue Then
    ...

Re: Fast count of words in a list

I think if I were going to try this using a listbox the first thing I would do is sort the listbox.
I would create a variable that holds the last value read from the list which would of course start...

Re: Fast count of words in a list

You could also speed it up by not using the redim preserve in the loop.
Would be faster to have a larger array than needed to start with and then if needed reduce the size after the loop has...

Re: Moving simple code from vbnet to vb6

There is no need to add the part that assigns it "" as that will be the default value anyway so

Dim Result As String Will do just fine

Re: Moving simple code from vbnet to vb6

None of that code should be in the form load and the Class ... End Class part should not have been copied.

Re: Moving simple code from vbnet to vb6

It looks like he has pasted a VB.Net class inside the form load event of a VB6 form.

As far as it not looking like .Net it does look like a VB6 programmer wrote it in .Net as it is using mostly...
  13. Re: i have Error when i make Send api function the my program donot recvie

That makes twice now that you have talked about getting an error but you still have not told us what the error was nor where it occurred.
  14. Re: i have Error when i make Send api function the my program donot recvie

    That is not quite correct.

Either the client or the server can send and receive once a connection is made. In fact normally one would expect to see data being sent from both sides back and forth....

    Re: LOGICAL select case

I know what it is just not how I would recommend it to be done. It would be harder to read, harder to understand, use more memory and be slower than using a simple select case.

    Re: LOGICAL select case

That seems like a pretty convoluted way to avoid using a Select Case. Definitely not what I would suggest doing.
  17. Re: Why Commandbuttons are not caught in the Me.controls collection

The default color may be different if you have a different theme active.
  18. Re: Why Commandbuttons are not caught in the Me.controls collection

The code in the OP does hit the command buttons but by default you can't set the backcolor of the button, even if you change it in the designer the button will remain the same color unless you change...
  19. Re: [RESOLVED] Need help Populate (Height or Tall) in combo box

You don't need any of those ifs in there. Why did you add those, all you are doing is repeating the code three times.

    All you need is

    For iLoop = 4 To 6
    For iCtr = 0 To 12
    ...
  20. Re: Need help Populate (Height or Tall) in combo box

You need to reverse your loops, make iLoop the outter loop and iCtr the inner loop also iCtr should be 0 to 11 so you don't end up with something like 4'12"

    So when iLoop=4
    iCtr= 0 to 11...

  22. Re: How to navigate a form that is larger than the screen?

Well your sample size did not fit on my screen either and I am using a 37 inch monitor.

It doesn't matter if the screen is 10 inches or 100 inches. It matters what res it is using HD is 1920x1024...
  23. Re: [RESOLVED] VB6: SQL SELECT Statement Syntax Error

But there is no need to create 3 different string vars in most cases one will do.
It is not good to copy the query from Access unless you are going to modify it quite a bit once pasted because...
  24. Re: Is it possible to communicate between 2 vb6 exe?

Yes of course you can communicate between apps. There are several different methods that can be used. DDE, File I/O, UDP, TCP ....

If one is processing then no communication can take place while...
  25. Re: Accessing the file system context menus from within VB6

I've not looked into it much. I did have a need to create some archives [zip files] a while back I tried a few different methods all of which seemed to work fairly well. I found two different DLLS...

Re: How to handle run time error 3110

One would think that if it was really "Urgent" you would have posted some code and details as to where the error occurred.
Since we have no code to go on there is not much we can do to help other...

Re: Repositing a form after startup?

Well as the name implies startupposition determines where the form starts. It has no effect after the form is shown.

You need to set the position of the form, you do this by setting the top and...

  31. Re: How to navigate a form that is larger than the screen?

Those values are to big to fit on my screen as well. You should not be making your forms that big.

I am using a screen res of 1920x1024 which is full HD res and that form is larger than the...
  32. Re: Error when refreshing crystal report 8.5

I haven't used CR since the 90s so I also can be of no help.

That said you should at least state what the error message is as that would be more likely to get a meaningful response
  33. Re: A scroll bar that doesn't move (kind of) :)

  34. Re: Bluetooth: connect/disconnect/connect a device

    Is it in...

  36. Re: Accessing the file system context menus from within VB6

  37. Re: [RESOLVED] VB6: SQL SELECT Statement Syntax Error

I will code the Where clause as a separate var in some cases but that is generally a case where the where clause is built dynamically...
  38. Re: Bluetooth: connect/disconnect/connect a device

It refers to it as a serial device which means you would use the MSComm control to talk to it.

The picture is very misleading as it shows only 6 pins.

In any case I would say that you should...

Re: help to understand code vb6

    Not much to it really.

does some division on those values and rounds to 6 places
then subtracts one and rounds again to 6 places, should not need to round...
  40. Re: right format to calculate hours

I would probably use Format$() with a pattern of "0#.#0" to keep the display consistent or "##.#0" so you would get 05.20 or 5.20 imo this makes the display look better as all the values stay in...
