    Re: Separate Forms or MDI

VB6 uses a MDI interface by default but it also supports the SDI interface. You can change it in the options section.

In the case of VB the MDI interface is much better to use than the SDI.

    In...

Re: fit textbox object to msflexgrid cell

You probably need to account for the borders

Would help if you gave us an idea of what "does not really fit the size" actually means.
To big, to small, top position off, left position off

    Try...
  5. Re: How to make an app that handles multiple passwords for one user?

The title of the thread is also missleading as it indicates you want to create an app that will allow a user to have more than one password but really you are looking for a way to automate password...
  6. Re: How can read binary text file first line? and how write to binary text first line

The point above was that either it is Binary or it is text. It can't be both

For a text file you would normally use one of the text file methods like Line Input # for example

    For a Binary file...

    Re: AppData

I have used the alternate folder solution in some cases and it works fine.
I have one older program that by default installs to program files, creates a few sub folders and reads/writes data using...

Re: enter key instead of tab

I do this a lot on mobile devices. I use the keypress event to check for the enter key then set focus to the control I want.
Generally I use the keypreview= true and place my code in the form...

    Re: Please Help VB6

Just to be clear you need an Exit Sub just before the Error_Handler: label so if there were more lines of code after msgbox the Exit statement would be after those lines as well.

    Private Sub...

    Re: Opening an acces Database

You need to make sure that you do not have the database opened exclusively already such as open in Access
You will need to open a recordset using a query to return the data you want

    Re: Data access error

You also do not need to do anything with the addins
There is a separate shortcut for the package and deployment wizard right next to the one for VB6. You just need to run it. It should pick up the...

    Re: Stopping a loop

It depends on the type of loop being used. A do loop for example supports the usage of Exit DO to break out

Most likely you will need some sort of flag var at the form level and a doevents in your...

Re: Very light VB script for Keyboard

Are you actually talking about VBScript or are you talking about VB they are quite different. VB6 is not a scripting language. It is a tool to write and compile executables
    If this is a scripting...
  16. Re: Windows 7 Visual Basic Has stopped working.

So may be good to know what controls/references that project uses that are different from the ones that work.
  17. Re: Windows 7 Visual Basic Has stopped working.

Of course you can change that at anytime which I always do.

VB on my systems default to M:\Projects\SourceCode where M:\ is a mapped and mirrored network drive

All you have to do is set the...
  18. Re: Windows 7 Visual Basic Has stopped working.

Why would you assume that it is being created on the virtual machine?

I use VMs quite a bit, I never save files to the VM though. I always use a drive or device that is independent of the VM....
  19. Re: Windows 7 Visual Basic Has stopped working.

Where is the exe being created?

I have had some issues when working with files on a shared network drive from VMPlayer. Apparently it sometimes looses access to the drive for a few milliseconds...
  20. Re: does anyone know the vb6 classes for stmocx.dll or how to use the stmocx.dll

If you don't have it and don't know what it is then why do you want to be told how to use it?
What info could be in play retrieved using a dll that you do not have?
  21. Re: Send Wordpad (.RTF) document to Intermec label printer

Could be a printer setting, I seem to remember some printers having a setting to spit out a blank label under some conditions.

Another thing that may cause this would be if your label is slightly...
  22. Re: To show in Taskbar or not to show in Taskbar

Yep I noticed that as well.

I have not used API for this sort of thing before, never had a need to hide my app from the task bar.

As a user I expect apps I am running to show up in the...
  23. Re: Send Wordpad (.RTF) document to Intermec label printer

You may not need the new page statement when working with the label printer.
    Have you tried omitting that?

I modified what was posted in post #4

  28. Re: Using the same array number to present a sub-routine and determine a correct resp

    Re: Data access error

Make sure that your database is there and in the right place on the problem pc.
Also make sure that it is not in program files if the problem machine is newer than XP
  30. Re: Using the same array number to present a sub-routine and determine a correct resp

I can't tell for sure what you are trying to do, nor do I understand your question.

Nothing is defined in your sub, no idea what the contents of your random number array is

    Sounds like you need...
  31. Re: Program runs in the background even after I close it using Red X button in window

  32. Re: To show in Taskbar or not to show in Taskbar

You would probably want to add the code to the form resize event and check to see if it is minimized or not and based on that set the show in task bar
  33. Re: Program runs in the background even after I close it using Red X button in window

You should definitely not do this, not ever. Yes the program will stop when the end is executed but it will not clean up properly and depending on what your program does can have strange and...
  34. Re: Program runs in the background even after I close it using Red X button in window

Apparently you have some code behind your button that cleans up for you. This code is only executing when the button is clicked.

Place that clean up code in the Unload event instead and behind...

  38. Re: print images with records using crystal reports

No you can not give out your license. That is for development and for you only.

All you have to include with your install is the DLL for Active Reports.

    Re: vb6 or vb.net ?

VB6 doesn't really support mobile development at all.

There was also a 3rd party tool that...

You should use a For Next Loop
