  1. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

Hmm. Pretty sure that #26 has mutated considerably since it was first posted as there was no mention of 'bias supporting' (and several other things) at the time I made #27.

    @si
    Do your mod...
  2. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

Hmm. That sounds just as sinister as anything that you are trying to protect us from! ;)

But, humour aside, I don't see why Olaf's work cannot, at least, be considered as an exception to your...
  3. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

There are several reasonable and valid observations already made within this thread so I'll not add to them at this point since Funky Dexter has not submitted anything since Post #4.

    I do,...

    Re: [RESOLVED] Toolbar Question

Re: What if there was a NEW vb6

My exact thoughts when I first read through the OP's draft copy; not exactly persuasive. And this is compounded by Shaggy's equally valid observations about the veracity of the numbers in the first...
  7. Re: How to Link any label or command button to any website

Meh, not so sure about that. Most threads are unrated period. This suggests that the ONLY people who tend to rate threads are the OP's of those threads. Remove the functionality from them and it...

    Re: How to simlify this

  9. Re: How to Link any label or command button to any website

I realised that was possible when I noticed that salsa's threads always got 5 stars!
  10. Re: How to Link any label or command button to any website

Same reason this one did, probably. ;)

    Re: ZOrder doesn't work

Yes, already pointed out my mistake! What happens when you do the opposite of what you are currently doing? i.e. send Picture1(0) to the back via Picture1(0).Zorder 1

Actually, ignore me - bad brain day. Thought (from memory) that 1 brought an object to the front but it's the other way around as I discovered when I added the link to MSDN!

  15. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

Pretty sure you added that to your post after Olaf's reply in #30 (i.e. in your edit of 30/6/14 @ 12:14am) - back-dating your posts is hardly playing fair!

I'd quite like to see your solution to...

Can you PM me the link, please, Olaf? Keen to take a look...
  17. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

I think it's pretty obvious that one needs the combinations of all elements in order to exclude the intersections. And this, of course, is easily coded when the number of elements and their values...
  18. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

Concur. Original post was a "large arithmetic error".
  19. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

Awww shite. I mis-read your post #8 and thought that you hadn't allowed for the multiple-multiples scenario. Didn't even test it, in fact. Just went to work trying to eliminate them! Laughing at my...
  20. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

re post #10, I can see that you are going to have great difficulty avoiding subtracting the same numbers more than once when different multiples 'intersect'. I assume that is what you are struggling...
  21. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

Success! Works for original problem; just changed your arraylist to contain only 3 and 5 as below. Should work with more provided array is sorted in ascending order.

    Option Explicit

    Private...
  22. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

Yeah, I'm playing around with this, too. Independently of your initial Optimised approach (I didn't really study it) I came up with something identical and am now trying to find a way of eliminating...

    Re: Questions about flexgrid

The .Text method requires a .Row and .Col to be set beforehand which activates that cell and therefore 'highlights' it. Use the .TextMatrix property instead and you do not need to set .Row and .Col....
  24. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

What does your CalculateResultOptimized function look like now, Olaf? Incorporating a solution to the 'set-theory intersection problem'?
  25. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

Hey, I was just pointing it out since I could see straight away that your code did not address the stated problem.

As for the n-1, it did occur to me that you could pass 999 to the function but...

    Re: Questions about flexgrid

You don't need to use the AddItem method to set the text of a cell.

You can use either .TextMatrix property (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa261271%28v=vs.60%29.aspx) or the .Text...
  27. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

You are including numbers that are multiples of both 3 and 5 twice

e.g. When i is 15, both If statements are true and, hence, 30 is added to your Result variable. This is the 'set theory' problem...
