  2. Re: Write Checkbox state to XML using XmlTextWriter

  6. Re: ComboBox: concatenate value runtime

I agree with kaliman as its not natural but who says it has to be? ;)

I think your only real choice is to inherit the control into a class and use the overrides to make it wotrk the way you want,...
  7. Re: One Question Poll / Survey - The results?

Just seems odd the poll doesn't update and display the results after you vote, and doesn't have a link to view the current results like most do.

Here is a poll for you.
    Whats the chance you'll go...
  8. [RESOLVED] One Question Poll / Survey - The results?

    Re: Insert Image

    Ya it sucks.

I think your only option now is to use an image host and when inserting it here and asked to uploaded locally say NO!
Your code should then look like this,
    URL_To_Image_Here
  10. VS 2010 Re: Help adding up all the numeric values in a listbox

It is still doing a conversion but behind the scenes because you have "Option Strict Off", which basically tells VB to guess what conversion to use, and that can return unexpected results or even...
  11. VS 2010 Re: Help adding up all the numeric values in a listbox

    Try something like,

' loop through list box, add item values to total
    For Each itm In ListBox1.Items
    total += CDec(itm) ' convert...

  14. Re: ContextMenuStrip.... getting the object clicked on

I didn't know about that bug.
What if we save the sourcecontrol in the menu opening event, then use that in our menu events?
    Quick test,..

I did too until recently, I guess it just grew on me, all the forums I go to are on ver 4 except one that is still using ver 3, oddly none I visit are using vB ver 5.

    Its been nearly two years...
  17. Re: [VS 2012] how to switch to another forms properly and close them properly

Maybe change the shutdown mode option set in project properties, you can have it so the "start up form" closes the app or "when last form closes".

  27. VS 2010 Re: Process start and stop using vb.net application

You really shouldn't use Kill unless you need to terminate a process that is not responding.

Re: Forum Template / Layout Change

That script only makes the code windows fit the posting area width the same way quotes auto size to fit.

Why they want to hard code the width of code windows here to be so small is beyond me,...
  31. Re: vb2010 Button Disable When TextBox is Empty

But if it was, isn't the MS VB compiler smart enough not to do unnecessary comparisons anyway ?

  34. VS 2010 Re: Why Debug.WriteLine(a) does no shows in Output window?

  35. VS 2012 Re: "path's format is not supported" issue

I think the OP isn't coping the path correctly for VB.
When coping path from explorer best to use "Copy address as text" not "Copy address".

  38. VS 2013 Re: Displaying the DOS CMD output in a text box: Confused???

Right, you can't be declaring the same things more then once in the same scope, that is a conflict, it also appears you'd be adding a timer for every new task, that's usually a bad idea. I'm not...
