  2. [RESOLVED] Never Mind - Wrong Question

  3. Re: Save All Contents of Picturebox in WINDOWS XP

  4. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

From what I understand about what's going on it turns out I should not process SHCNE_UPDATEDIR nor SHCNE_UPDATEITEM with a refresh as these two events are present in the other events I am processing...
  5. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

Yes, that is exactly how I have it now. User can add, delete, rename, etc and when user does an action(s) I use SHChangeNotify to notify Explorer of the action(s).

As far as storing the full paths...
  6. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

OK, now I got RENAMEITEM to work

As far as SHCNE_DELETE goes even though it does return the original name it's just as easy to refresh my ListView instead of messing with extra code unless you see...
  7. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

OK, so far I got SHCNE_DELETE, SHCNE_CREATE working OK.

SHCNE_MKDIR I havent played with this one yet

SHCNE_DELETE doesn't send the file name that was deleted but it doesn't matter as all I...
  8. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

I've been giving serious thought to going back to an earlier version where I did use and examine all those SHCNE_ messages. I was doing somewhat OK for awhile but it just seemed it was getting more...
  9. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

That is not the point, that is exactly what I don't want. The whole point of this thread is about duplicating Windows Explorer so that my app shows exactly what user's Explorer shows. If it turns out...
  10. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

When you add a files to Explorer in Win7 and it puts the files is sorted order does Explorer highlight it and insure visibility for each item you add even if they are farther apart than what can been...
  11. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

That would not be my preference. I don't understand the reasoning behind that. What would you prefer?

    1) Add 50 items to your Explorer window and see all of them in one spot so you can easily see...
  12. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

Well, it's not a life and death situation but it would be nice to be able to do same for the simple reason that user can see what has just been added without having to look all through the listings...
  13. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

It's not a question of detail. Details I don't care about. My ListView window shows the same files/folders as Explorer's. What I want to do is to show these files/folder in the same order, that's...
  14. Re: How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

I think that's OK about hiding file extensions and/or hiding files since what I want is to duplicate Explore's window so if user hides anything then my ListView will also hide same files. About...
  15. How can I copy Explorer's ListView/TreeView windows

Currently I'm using FileList to get the files from the current directory Explorer is viewing however doing it this way I get the same files but not necessarily in the same order and I would like to...

    Using SHChangeNotifyRegister

I'm using this API so my app can get notified when certain events take place outside my app; like files being added or deleted, modified, etc.

    Re: Using SHFileOperation API

Whether I put a padding Integer between fFlags and fAnyOperationsAborted or I make fAnyOperationsAborted a Long as Bonnie posted the sizes come out the same

Actually I have it defined as Boolean (see my first post), not BOOL as I stated but still it's confusing when MSDN has it defined as BOOL and Bonnie says it should be a Long. So far I have not had...

I reduced the code to this:

    For n = 0 To File2.ListCount - 1
    If File2.List(n) <> File1.List(n) Then

    Re: Lisview select case

That's because you are always re-initializing your textbox with a new entry:

    Text1.Text = ListView1.ListItems(i)

Above will always put the next ListView item in your TextBox overwriting the...

    Re: Checkers game to solve

I think you should just start from the beginning and design your checker game like it should be on an 8 by 8 board with 12 pieces per side. It's not really that difficult.

If you want some help on...

    or

the filename with the .LNK extension didn't exist
  35. Re: [RESOLVED] Why can I not drop a Shortcut

The shortcut exists in the source folder. When you look at in in Explorer it displays as "Shortcut to Hex Editor.exe". When I populate my app's ListView using File1 control it also displays as...

Maybe it works that way on Vista+ but it sure isn't doing that on XP.

Re: [RESOLVED] Move controls at runtime

Of course you can have two INI files. You can have as many as you like. Just give each file a different name; ie: Form1.ini, Form2.ini, etc
  38. Re: Auto Scrolling ListView - There must be a better way

  39. Re: [RESOLVED] Why can I not drop a Shortcut

I was trying to OLEDrag/Drop "Shortcut to Hex Editor.exe" from my application's ListView to Explorer but it has to be "Shortcut to Hex Editor.exe.lnk" otherwise Explorer ignores it
