    Re: parsing again with two splits

    Can you post the incoming data? That would help us understand better. And, kinda looking for what you are trying to find....is it all UIDs and all NickNames? Just wondering.
  2. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    It would behoove you (that means, it would be to your benefit) if you would download the "Black Book" for Visual Basic 6, available HERE. Go through it, page by page, you can learn a lot from this...
  3. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    You REALLY have extremely little knowledge of how to code in VB. Like I suggested a long time ago, go to class, get a book, STUDY!

    StrSql = "SELECT * FROM Customers where fullname = '" &...
  4. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    oops, sorry...darn cut/paste...was trying to merge salsa's code with mine...as DM says:

    StrSql = "SELECT * FROM Customers where fullname = '" & txtSubject.Text & "' and DAY(DateBirth) = '" &...
  5. Re: Find total number of lines which has "+" sign

    Read the file in line by line, and each time the line includes a + sign, increment a counter.
    Like:

    Dim myLine As String
    Dim selfile As String
    Dim y as Integer
    dim numLinesWithPlusSign as...
  6. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    It READS:

    SELECT everything from the customers table WHERE the fullname field is equal to the text value of txtSubject AND the day of datebirth is equal to the day of today AND the month of...
  7. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Salsa...you didn't listen to DM....this works:

    StrSql = "SELECT * FROM Customers where fullname = '" & txtSubject.Text & "' and DAY(DateBirth) = '" & DAY(Date) & "' AND MONTH(DateBirth) = '"...
  8. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Oh yeah, I didn't 'fix' that first part of the line....I DO have 'AND' in MY query.

    Good catch.
  9. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Not in MY database...works fine for me. Are you checking for ucase/lcase, that is, does the upper and lower case of FullName (in your database) match exactly what is in txtSubject.text?
  10. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    try this:

    Dim rs As New ADODB.Recordset
    rs.Open "SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE FullName = '" & txtSubject.Text & "' & DAY(DateBirth) = '" & DAY(Date) & "' AND MONTH(DateBirth) = '" &...
  11. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    I also did a couple programs using an msflexgrid to temporarily hold all the 'data' on a person, and used GMAIL to send me the notification....here's the section that populates the grid using...
  12. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Salsa....yes, please check your old posts...I gave you an example on how to use datediff to do just what you wanted to do. As I told you before, as well, I have a program (a couple, actually), that...
  13. Re: Can MSHFlexgrid calculate the total of a column with "group by"?

    Have you researched Data Reports?
    Good tutorial at this link: http://www.vbtutor.net/vb6/lesson40.html (Yes, it's for VB6.)
  14. Re: [RESOLVED] Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    Good point, DM....didn't even look at the logic of his code. I suppose, if there were 6 million records, then the progress bar would move 'slower', but still, nothing is being "loaded", Salsa. If...
  15. Re: [RESOLVED] Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    If his pbar (Bar) IS a 3rd-P, then probably Bar.text = Int(Bar.Value * 100 / Bar.Max) & "%" would work
  16. Re: Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    To show percent IN A LABEL, you can do this:

    Label1.Caption = Int(ProgressBar1.Value * 100 / ProgressBar1.Max) & "%"

    ..where, in this example, the progressbar is named (the default)...
  17. Re: Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    A progressbar does not have a text or textalignment property. Don't see how you are not getting an error with bar.text and bar.textalignment.
    Bar IS your progressbar, correct?
  18. Re: Retrieve Last Inserted ID in MS Access

    like:

    select max(id) as maxid from tablename
  19. Re: Retrieve Last Inserted ID in MS Access

    have you tried "max id"?
  20. Re: Can MSHFlexgrid calculate the total of a column with "group by"?

    Instead of resurrecting a 5 year old thread....
    Why don't you just post in a new thread what you want. "...need some help like this program..." doesn't tell us anything.
    What are you doing?
    What...

    Re: something color with MSFlexGrid

    Here's an example....place an MSFlexgrid on the form. Make it 5 columns (0-4), and make the top row Fixed.

    Option Explicit
    Private Sub Form_Load()
    grid.Row = 1
    Dim x As Integer
    For x = 0 To...

    Re: MDIchild to appear in center

    1-As you will have many child forms, use something like this in a module....

    Public Sub CenterForm(frm As Form, frmParent As Form)

    frm.Left = (frmParent.ScaleWidth / 2) - (frm.Width / 2)

    Something like this work for you?

    Private Sub MDIForm_Load()
    frmMDIChild.Move (Me.ScaleWidth - frmMDIChild.Width) / 2, (Me.ScaleHeight - frmMDIChild.Height) / 2
    End Sub
  26. Re: Select the Linked cell of the selected checkbox

    1. You have posted in the wrong Forum....this one is for VB6 and Earlier Versions of VB. There is a separate one for VBA questions.
    2. There are probably several ways of doing what you ask. The...
  27. Re: Removing all extra characters at the end of a line of a DAT file?

    Roger, DM....I also posted the same line for OP to remove Tabs....
  28. Re: Removing all extra characters at the end of a line of a DAT file?

    I added these two line before your first REPLACE command, and it works (in MY example file):

    strLine = Replace(strLine, vbTab, "")
    strLine = Replace(strLine, " ", "")
  29. Re: Removing all extra characters at the end of a line of a DAT file?

    Welcome to the forum.

    Sure....that clue will help, however, to test what I post later, can you attach a sample of the dat file? (Use "Go Advanced" button and Manage Attachments to attach the...
  30. Re: Adding a new control to newly created tab in sstab

    Put your call to the AddListBoxes sub in form_initialize (I believe that was mentioned far above).

    Private Sub Form_Initialize()
    AddListBoxes
    End Sub
    Also, no need to use the Call...
  31. Re: Extract the most left 5 characters from list box

    Okay....you guys want to shoot me...fine. I am just trying to understand and help OP.

    @OP---here is a small example that lets you do what you asked in your first post (extract the most left 5...
  32. Re: Extract the most left 5 characters from list box

    Thx...okay, I think I got it....(i THINK---jms thinks I'm a little slow today)
    Anyway, I assume you want to simply increase the Number from D0001 to D0002 and populate the first text field (KundNr),...
  33. Re: Adding a new control to newly created tab in sstab

    Er---list1(0) set on Tab0...

    What do you mean invalid?

    Here's an example....117791
  34. Re: Adding a new control to newly created tab in sstab

    Gee, jms...what gives? I ASSUME OP knows how many rows he has in his grid....what's wrong with it?...works just fine in my example.
    (I have a msflexgrid1 with 3 rows in it (set in IDE); an invisible...
  35. Re: Extract the most left 5 characters from list box

    Agree totally with your two middle lines (and the latter half of the first), but not the first and last sentences (see my quote) ~smile~

    And I assume you (TLP) and jms totally understand this? (I...
  36. Re: Adding a new control to newly created tab in sstab

    NOTE-if you want the listboxes to be in the same left position on each tab, then change

    list1(aa).Left = (myWidth * aa) + 50

    to

    list1(aa).left = 250 (for example)

    (And remove the dim...
  37. Re: Adding a new control to newly created tab in sstab

    #3 probably works (didn't test it), but this does.

    Sub AddListBoxes()
    Dim aa As Integer
    Dim myWidth As Integer
    myWidth = List1(0).Width
    For aa = 1 To MSFlexgrid1.Rows
    ...
  38. Re: Extract the most left 5 characters from list box

    I still really don't. What happens when the 'number' (Dplus whatever) becomes six characters (D plus five numbers)?...then obviously OP would want the first 6 'characters' instead of the first 5. ...
  39. Re: Extract the most left 5 characters from list box

    Your post is somewhat vague.
    1-Is that the ONLY entry in your listbox?
    2-Do you want the first FIVE CHARACTERS, or are you looking for the first 'Word'? FOr example, could and entry be "D12345 XX...
