Re: What if there was a NEW vb6

I didn't. I started with three periods and three periods is an ellipsis. :P

Re: What if there was a NEW vb6

...and one of those 'now's is superfluous... ;)
  3. Re: need advice how to get the result faster

Most likely some of your queries can be optimised/merged but you can't honestly expect anybody to improve the performance of your process based upon what you've posted above without playing guessing...
  4. Re: Removing Duplicate Rows (Please Help)

I don't know what you are trying to accomplish but I don't see how you can expect to aggregate by Invoice Number by summing Debit Amounts from your CustDetails table as nothing in that table says...

Re: How to Remove Decimal Part

So, 9 years on from the OP, the answer is to use a .NET method to solve a VB6 problem ;)

    Re: Program Testers

Hi reexre, if you have found a bug with RichTip, can you please post details of how to reproduce in the RichTip thread. Thanks...
  8. Re: Hello need help creating a chart (with or without vbRichClient5)

Oops. Just noticed you were looking for a line-graph. My links were probably not that helpful! Sorry...

  10. Re: Hello need help creating a chart (with or without vbRichClient5)

There are some nice examples of vbRC5 charts in the codebank if you care to search there...
  11. Re: Testing for Optional parameters

You can also use a default value for optional params and test for that as well:

Private MySub(Param1 as Long, optional Param2 as long = -1)

Besides that, optional parameters have a default...
  12. Re: vbRichClient5 - DrawToDC , how to GetFromDC ?

That would be a welcome addition...
  13. Re: vbRichClient5 - DrawToDC , how to GetFromDC ?

    Ooh, meant to ask...

@Olaf: Can I do the above with RC5's cStream class? Wasn't obvious to me how...
  14. Re: vbRichClient5 - DrawToDC , how to GetFromDC ?

wrt to the OP, I normally do this via the following function (needs a reference to olelib.tlb)

Public Function StdPictureToByteArray(ByVal image As StdPicture) As Byte()
    Dim abData() As Byte...
  15. Re: Copy all properties from Form to other Form

Fair point. :) There's way too much second-guessing that goes on here due to poorly-asked questions...
  16. Re: Copy all properties from Form to other Form

I assumed that the OP was asking about copying a form with all of its controls but we'll see, I suppose!

    Re: Program Testers

Aah, OK. I thought it was supposed to be something for the user to look at while the program loaded....
  18. Re: Copy all properties from Form to other Form

If that were true you couldn't have Command1 on more than one form...which you can!

    Re: Program Testers

I was referring to all the images named like 'A 0 M 0 of 40 size 11.bmp' that are in the Kernels folder. They appear to only be used for the 'visual effect' while the program is initialising.

    Re: Program Testers

Hi reexre - interesting project :)

I noticed that you ship a lot of bmps for the 'app loading' image. I have a nice pre-loader written using RC5 that i will put into the codebank if you are...

    Re: MorphListBox Change detection

Yes, that's another way of doing it :) I was going to make that suggestion in addition to the one in Post #2 but, well, the purist in me made me make the more 'correct' one ;)

    Don't forget that,...
  22. Re: Count and Sum using SQL (MS Access and ADO)

I think this is what you are looking for, if I understand the problem correctly:

    SELECT sold, count(1) FROM
(SELECT DISTINCT lot, sold FROM table)
    GROUP BY sold

    Re: MorphListBox Change detection

Well, all the source code is there and the ListIndex property is stored as the variable m_ListIndex inside the UserControl's code. What I would do, in your shoes, is add a new event to that code...

Re: [Help] Skew image in vb6 like 3D

I've asked the moderators to move this thread to another part of the forum. No, wait! Another forum altogether; www.mustang-appreciation.com ;)
  25. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

Which would require a NOT EXISTS or NOT IN and that is (arguably) more difficult than the UNION?
  26. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

Or subsequent posts in the case of salsa ;)
  27. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

Perhaps there were duplicates across the 4 tables. Running 4 separate queries might have seen one or more of them fail a constraint check whereas a UNION automatically resolves all the duplicates....
  28. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

OK but you really do need to check things before posting here, salsa!
  29. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

Hmm. I don't use Access but the SQL looks fine to me. Don't know why the error message suggests otherwise!

Are you sure that's the exact SQL you are trying to execute?
  30. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

Yes. We've established that. What error?
  31. Re: [RESOLVED] never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called custom

    Correct! :)

EDIT: Just noticed your last line. What error are you getting. Always helpful to say...
  32. Re: never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called customers

    De nada
  33. Re: never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called customers

Hardly surprising as field a is not in Y4 and field c is not in Y1!
  34. Re: never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called customers

    Why not use something like

    INSERT INTO Customers ( FullName)
    SELECT a as FullNameFrom Y1
    UNION
SELECT b as FullName From Y2
    UNION
SELECT c as FullName From Y3
    UNION
    SELECT d as FullName...

Re: Presence of Train on Rail WeighBridge

Yes. Check the value of your pre-declared bIsTrainOnWeighBridge variable. If 'True', the train is on the weigh-bridge. Ask a vague question...
  36. VS 2013 Re: linQ - Need to optimize slow subquery code (.contains)

My instinct tells me that, if NID and PID are both indexed, the example without the UNION would be quicker. Not tested, though...and off to bed. Have no idea how Sqlite might have optimized it in...
  37. VS 2013 Re: linQ - Need to optimize slow subquery code (.contains)

For a two-tier hierarchy, surely you don't need the UNION at all?

    i.e.

"SELECT * FROM Nodes Where NID=@ID Union All Select * From Nodes Where PID=@ID"

    is the same as

    "SELECT * FROM Nodes...

    Re: True = False?

Start a new project and, then, to the form, add a textbox, leaving it's visible property set to true

Paste this into the form's code and run the project:
