I was meaning to do as you say but returned to the vb6 now and there is no offending message. It loads.
I did n't do any updates since yesterday or other changes.

    Strange new bug - flexwiz.ocx

I created a new ap two months ago and today I opened the code to see something.
To my surprise a message appeared "cannot load flexwiz.ocx".
    What is this ?

My system is windows 10 and it's the...
  10. Re: Is it possible to reverse engineer an .exe file created with vb6 ?

    Yes I know.
This happened to me 10 years ago because of oversight and also there was no cloud storage those days.
I 'm more about hacking possibilities, or rather anti-hacking. If it is possible...

  12. Is it possible to reverse engineer an .exe file created with vb6 ?

Suppose we have a computer program compiled as exe file.
We also have the source code, but an accident happens and the source code is lost while the .exe survives.
Is is possible to bring back the...

  27. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

    No control arrrays.
MS should wipe the slate clean and release an enhanced edition of vb6.
  28. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

Another thing vb.net does and makes you want to murder everybody is this:
When you write a line of code it takes whatever looks similar from above and completes the line for you.
    You may of course...

  32. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

  33. Re: Weird thing happenning when I try to save a file to disc

I still don't get what happened.
Is the 4.5 Mb strings with which this routine is loaded causing the problem in the final save operation ?
The program worked with "for output" but that's no excuse.
  34. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

From vb6 to vb.net migration forget it rather.

Many features of vb6 were gone (for...
  35. Re: No troll. What are the (legitimate) reasons people are still using VB6 ?

    VB6 is vintage stuff.
Bought it in 1999 and the guy who directed me to a shop was my wife's obstetrician when she gave birth to our son !
Now my son is a soldier, in the mountainous assault units !...
  36. Re: Weird thing happenning when I try to save a file to disc

  37. Weird thing happenning when I try to save a file to disc

Re: Run time error 76 - path not found

Win 8 UAC is graduated. Mine is at minimum, but turning it to maximum did n't affect things - only the warnings every time.
Could the problem be due to corrupt registry ?

Re: Run time error 76 - path not found

Is there a UAC in win8 ? We tried "run as administator" though.
