If our two posts encourage others to use/try 10Tec's grid, perhaps some of us could work on creating a sample that would allow printing ?
10Tec already have a sample of exporting/automating into...
I agree with Elroy
UNC path in a Settings.ini file, in the same folder as the VB6 program (on each PC)
I too use the SGrid2, and for the price, I love it.
Rather than rebooting the PC, you could remote in to one of those PCs where they cannot restart.
Bring up Task Manager and see if you can locate...
This won an award at PSC
Excel Class - write to an XLS file without DLL's or Excel automation
I am considering two of the above suggestions.
I am checking out the 10Tec iGrid, but I have a suspicion that it will not easily allow one to print the grid contents.
I could live with Direct...
Thank you, Magic Ink,
I appreciate you taking the time and trouble to assist me.
My question is 'How to set a reference to a Form' using (I guess) Property Set
I am exploring some examples for a grid control (iGrid)
Their main examples do not demonstrate direct printing,...
This is working for me.
I would appreciate it if someone could illustrate how to use BCC with this
I love portable (No install).
Most of my VB6 programs do not require installing, as I have stuck with VB6 SP5 (runtimes already on Win 98SE and later OS's).
When I do need a couple of dependencies...
I have a program that I coded to allow users to drag emails from Outlook into my program (which then saves the email and attachment to a folder on the hard drive).
User purchased a new laptop (win...
I help a friend interstate, who runs a small business.
They ignored my advice (to get Win 7 in any new PCs).
They have a Dell laptop running Win 8.1 64Bit (Home I guess because it just says Win 8.1...
One of the daily software giveaway sites is offering 'this' for half price -...
Would you let us know where you finally store it
Where are you storing the DB ?
Also are there multiple PCs involved, or where are these users ?
I am attaching an example demonstrating the flexgrid as a scrollable, no cell borders, list
I am rusty on flexgrid so have not attempted to play with formatting, spacing, Font selection, etc.
If there are more rows than there are visible, then a scroll bar appears, and the user can scroll.
I have not used the Flexgrid for years, as I use the free SGrid 2 instead
It would be...
Have you used User Controls yourself ?
I love them
The whole idea (from my perspective) is to avoid (or minimize) installation hassles, and making adding the control to your project a simple/tidy...
That is the actual source and official download from the author.
That is what everyone uses, when incorporating the grid into their projects.
However it is not a User Control ( not a self contained...
Sgrid 2 as a User Control ( .ctl )
I have come across a user control for SGrid 1 but not for SGrid 2
I use the SGrid 2 and I would love to use it as a User Control (which is a .ctl file that you...
If it is just a simple update, one of us could do it for free.
I have VB6 SP5 (I stuck with 5 so I never have to distribute the VB6 runtime).
I have never created or edited an Active X dll so you...
You could also use a grid, and make the cell borders invisible
Thanks for responding.
When you say the setup project is missing, does that mean you cannot make an EXE ?
If that is the case, then can one develop a project, and just give a copy of the folder to...
If that proves to be a limitation of CDO ? (I have never used it), you could use VBSendmail, which is free, and can do anything.
I think it will be a cold day in hades when I use VB.NET, however James Bond said 'never say never' so I will ask this question -
If one were to get the free Express edition of VB.NET what is...
You may know this, but other readers may not.
VB6 apps will run on your new Win 8 Laptop.
PS You may (NOT) be saying that the apps you currently run, are run as VBP files and not EXE's...
"Let sleeping dogs lie"
The good news is - whilst MS are not touching it, they are not stuffing it.
I am happy with the way things are.
One should not sprinkle them everywhere, and also be careful not to place them within a loop.
I have slept with that dog on quite a few occasions.
It has never bitten me.
Thanks for responding.
I did not think it was just the simple Computer Name used when installing Windows. But it is.
You are not going to believe this (then again you may) -
I just fired up...
I am looking for advice on how to set the path to an Access DB on a central PC
I don't believe a server is involved, just one of the PCs has been nominated as the central PC.
The VB6 app will...
Thanks for your post.
I went to your web site and managed to translate it.
I then tried to download the project, and it told me that only registered members can download it.
Private Sub Command1_Click()
Dim a As Integer, i As Integer, j As Integer
a = 0 'May be required, depending where you declared your variable
For i = 0 To 9
I too am from Adelaide (grew up there).
And I too am curious what the question was ?
And even more curious about the creative solution ?
Pre PS - It is captcha not captha
When I first read this, I innocently interpreted the request as wanting to create captcha ?
But DataMiser probably is correct, and it might be a request as to...
Read back over this thread, and you will see that I have asked more questions than you have answered.
See my post 4
EG I asked for your rules regarding positioning of the ToolTip
If you are not...
There is a minor bug with what is showing in the ToolTip.
I will look into it.
The attached is now similar to what you want.
It will need modification to meet your needs.
I just checked back to one of your earlier threads, where I got extremely angry.
I would have hoped...
I had slightly abbreviated the text, whilst debugging.
Attached has longer text in the listbox and ToolTip
The attached is just to demonstrate the use of a picturbox control array.
With printing to the individual pictureboxes, during Form_Load
The pictureboxes are moved out of sight (-9999)...
I was just sending the code that I am using as a starting point.
I am now enhancing it to demonstrate some of the concept I described above.
You should try harder to provide ALL the details, rather...
