  1. Re: Drop a control on constituent controls of a user control

(StdPictures, Plain-Text, RTF-Text, FileNames/Paths, your own Bytearrays etc.)...

  2. Re: Drop a control on constituent controls of a user control

That's true - and although it would have been nice to have a fix for this particular problem (to avoid
copying of private *.ctl-Files from a "leading source") - *when* it happens to you, it might...
  3. Re: Drop a control on constituent controls of a user control

It was not "feeling like arguing" - it was just a correction to your blanket statement where you said that you:

Because that's just misleading info for community-members who consider to use...
  4. Re: Drop a control on constituent controls of a user control

    And so what?

User-controls are basically the same thing as normal VB-Classes (just having additional "visual behaviours").
And in the same way as with normal VB-Classes - there can be...
  5. Re: Transfer LONG to SINGLE (and vice versa) with pure math.

Still wondering about the "why trying something like that?"-question.

Was it only for educational purposes - or did you try to solve a real practical problem?
(from your OP that seemed to be the...
  6. Re: Drop a control on constituent controls of a user control

Nah - there's dozens of scenarios where UserControls which contain additional Controls make perfect sense.
And I also don't see, where the "additional dependencies" would come from (e.g. when you...

    Re: Listview lvwList and fullrowselect?

You mean a Control which puts out something like this here?:

Well - for simpler Controls like this, it is often faster to write one from scratch...

Re: How to mamage files with non-English names?

The cDirList-Class is part of vbRichClient5.dll (a free Binary which needs to be downloaded and registered first).
As for *.vbgs being "much easier" - that may be true when you still debug things in...

Did you take a look at my contribution to the thread?
I did a code-review of the old VBGraphBuilder-Demo - and rebuild some routines

Re: How to mamage files with non-English names?

I found no real good ones... (maybe others have better suggestions)

One which seemed to work finally was here to find (based on ShChangeNotify and non-IDE-safe SubClassing):...
  11. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

Sure, saved me half an hour or so - and (other than diles WIA-based solution) it was not
only a very *performant* solution (suiteable for live-rendering with 30 -even 60 FPS) -
    but *also* very...
  12. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

I found it necessary, because it saved me time (not having to google first for an
alternative and well-implemented 24Bit-DIBSection-Class, and studying its interface...).

    Code in the Codebank...
  13. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

    And a Code-containing Zip on VBF-UserWebSpace is better than a Code-containing Zip
on an external site exactly why?

And believe me or not, but I had to google the term 'SEO'...

    Well, from the...
  14. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

Thanks for diggin it out (as a kind of "precedent")... ;)

    Hah - it's worse even <g>...

If we take diles argumentation, who was complaining about a kind of "look at my site"-advertisement...
  15. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

    Says who?
And what *exactly* do I supposedly know by now?

I mean, neither did FunkyDexter state clearly what's wrong with Demo-Source-Zip-Links to
site-external WebServers, nor can I find any...
  16. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

And I thought I ensured "easy access" in a convenient manner for all readers:
    - by posting the Form-Code in Code-Tags for those who wanted a short overview of the Class-usage directly "on-site" (now...
  17. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

    Glad we agree so far.

You mean, the fact that I posted an URL to the Demo-Source as a *.zip is somehow "despicable"?

There's lot's of zipped-up and uploaded VB-Source-Projects to be found...
  18. Re: Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

  20. Re: How do I do a fast YUV to RGB (and reverse) conversion?

Cannot get the YUV 4:2:0 RawImage to decode with your example.

    but have included an...
  21. Re: How do I do a fast YUV to RGB (and reverse) conversion?

Just uploaded a small Demo which decodes both your RawData-examples in about 1.5msec to RGB24-Format.

That is more than fast enough, since with 30Hz Capture-Rate, you have about 33msec time...
  22. Video-Decompression with the VCM (ICM-Win32-API)

Just a small example, how to use the ICM-API (hosted in msvfw32.dll), to decode
YUV-RawData-Blobs as they may come in from Web- or other Cam-Drivers...

These APIs are still supported also on...
  23. Re: How do I do a fast YUV to RGB (and reverse) conversion?

Re: How to mamage files with non-English names?

Re: How to mamage files with non-English names?

is a FileSystem-Watching (in case the...

Re: ado left join sorting issue

Since your SQL-statement doesn't contain any 'Order By'-Clause, it is entirely up to
the DB-engine, in what order it hands out the resulting records to you.

    Re: From C# to VB6

  34. Re: [RESOLVED (or sort of...)]Evaluating boolean value of a string...?

As Doogle already demonstrated - it is possible to leave String-Literals "un-escaped"

    remains simple and...

  36. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

There's no bias against one method or the other - since both are valid algorithms in their own right.

  38. Re: Using a mathematical identity to speed up certain calculations.

It's about 650 times slower - but yes, the difference is quite large - and overproportionally so,
when we e.g. compare it with the VB6-native-compiler-timing when I run the same task:
    n = 100000,...

AFAIK (and just tested it) - you can fill an XL-Range directly also from a Zero-based (2D) Array.

E.g. this fast, simple test did work here:
