  14. Re: [RESOLVED] Get output parameter back from sproc, using Dapper

    Ah, that's annoying. :(

To get things sorted out here, I'd recommend sending a PM to Brad.
  15. Re: Get output parameter back from sproc, using Dapper

Hopefully RSI will be a big enough hint.

It depends on when moderators/admins visit the site... it can be anywhere from a minute to several hours.
    It is indeed.
  16. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

In that case try using ExecuteScalar instead... I suggest reading the help for it to understand how it works (and probably an example or two), and/or searching the forums for examples.

Re: Please help with some coding examples

While you may not have intended that, it is what you asked for.

A good starting point is to ignore the code... work out how you would do it without a computer.

Re: Please help with some coding examples

    Welcome to VBForums

It is rude to ask complete strangers to spend their free time writing your homework for you - instead you should try to do it yourself, and ask for specific assistance...
  24. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

See the end of post #6.

In that case you shouldn't add the record until you are saving the data from the other forms.

Declare the variable as Public (eg: Public MyID as Integer), and use it in...
  25. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

    It won't.

That will just tell your code what the last inserted is. You can then store it to a variable, and use it for whatever purpose you want (such as using it for a record in another...

  27. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

Please don't change earlier posts, at best it causes confusion.

If you have something new to write, it is best to create a new post.

  28. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

Method 2 is the right one to use, and here is the relevant part:

    Ideally change it to use...
  29. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

  31. Re: insert data to access 2007 with Product_ID as primary key error

It can be, but generally shouldn't.

If there are related records in other tables and you forget to delete them, they will be linking to the new record - and therefore give you bad data that you...

  33. Re: Issue when Setting up connection to database.

The server name is the same as the "Data Source" parameter, so just: 123.456.789.101,1234
  34. Re: Adding foreign key to other tables in MySQL using VB.NET

Simply use the same method to create records in the other table, but this time put in the ID value.

If the ID is automatically generated by the database and you don't know how to find what it was,...
  35. Re: Issue when Setting up connection to database.
