  1. Re: Receiving run-time error on run, but not in debug

Where do you set the clickPos object?
What type is clickPos defined as?

Since it apparently works in debug, are you sure that the waitForPageLoad function is actually waiting for the entire page...

Very nice demo, thanks for posting it! I like the effect of the rising/fading score indicator.
  3. Re: Legacy App Error: "Cannot open the microsoft jet engine workgroup information fil

Can confirm that Kaspersky is the common denominator for me too. Thanks again everyone for your help!
  4. Re: Legacy App Error: "Cannot open the microsoft jet engine workgroup information fil

Thanks for your replies! I will be see if I can get the client to replace the file as described and see if that works.
  5. Re: Legacy App Error: "Cannot open the microsoft jet engine workgroup information fil

I haven't been actively involved with the old code for a few years, and the new version of the software doesn't use Jet or connection strings, so my expertise is lacking here. It's also taking some...
  6. Re: Legacy App Error: "Cannot open the microsoft jet engine workgroup information fil

Hi Dilettante, thanks for the reply, and sorry for the lack of info, I'm still trying to collect information, and figure out a pattern.

  7. [RESOLVED] Legacy App Error: "Cannot open the microsoft jet engine workgroup information file"

    Hi,

I've just gotten reports from users at two separate offices that they can no longer open their Jet database created files in a legacy VB6 application today (out of the blue). The error is:

  8. Re: Play a WAVE by reading WAVE Data as STRING vs Intger [ByteArray]

Your code gives me more questions than answers, there's a lot of magic numbers, missing declarations, and no call to play the WAV, etc...

The first thing I'd try is getting rid of all strings,...
  9. Re: Play a WAVE by reading WAVE Data as STRING vs Intger [ByteArray]

You could be right, but it's hard to say without seeing some code and sample WAV.

My guess would be that you are reading a series of bytes into a string, and passing it to a method that is...

I neglected mentioning Name..As because I thought I recalled a limitation that it couldn't move files from one drive to another (e.g. C: to D:), but it appears that I was mistaken (tried it here,...

    Re: Cut and Paste ?!

You can do this using the FileCopy and Kill statements.

File operations like this can fail relatively commonly for a variety of reasons, such as:

You don't have permission to read the source...

Re: Can you Hook from a class?

AddressOf can only be used with methods in a standard module, not a class module. You will need to move your WindowProc function to a standard module.

    Re: ocx won't register

Perhaps the Inno conversation is better suited to a separate thread, since it is off-topic here, but I will just say this Dilettante - your argument against Inno sounds a lot like the arguments from...
  19. Re: Sending RICHTEXTBOX content to E-mail Problem

The first thing you need to know with email is that you are dealing with client applications (email "viewers") that can render your message in any way that they see fit.

    Re: ocx won't register

I've seen you trash Inno setup a few times in this forum, and I'm curious about the reasons for that.

I've used Inno for many years, and it has worked very well for me through *most* of those...
  21. Re: Using a variable for a control name

Hi Colin, I agree with you on your "air-design" - the 2 collections make sense as well. But it seems like jmsrickland is probably too far along in his code to do things this way at this stage, so...
  22. Re: Using a variable for a control name

  23. Re: Using a variable for a control name

Well, as I said I don't feel I have enough information to make a suggestion that I would stand behind 100% one way or the other. My history and experience tells me that I would go with a function...

    Re: ocx won't register

Counterintuitively enough, SysWow64 is the 32-bit system folder on 64-bit Windows. WoW64 stands for Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WoW64
  25. Re: Using a variable for a control name

There are good reasons for using (or not using) global variables in standard modules - but I don't think I have enough information about your current code, or the scope of your problem domain to give...
  26. Re: Using a variable for a control name

The (Index) portion in the above is a parameter of the hidden default Item property of your object, so you can't use it in the Controls.Item parameter, since it is expects just the Name of the Object...
  27. Re: Using a variable for a control name

I'm not sure you've understood the functionality of the function as posted - it behaves exactly the same as a global variable would, in that it allows you to get rid of all of your IF and SELECT CASE...
  28. Re: Using a variable for a control name

Or do you mean that inside that color testing IF clause, you are setting different...

  30. Re: Using a variable for a control name

  31. Re: listview wont load all data from the table

The CodeJock ListView takes a Variant for the Text parameter of the Add method of the ListItems object. Since you are pass rs!FullName, I wonder if it is misinterpreting the passed value as the field...

    Re: VB6 - JsonBag, Another JSON Parser/Generator

If you copy and pasted the code, perhaps the procedure attributes did not come across? Therefore, you would not have a default attribute of the JsonBag class (Item), which would cause the error.
