  1. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

thanks dile, west, schmidt (and others). Actually this thread is REALLY resolved now (see next thread on the last topic of saving to DB).
Now I just have to return and recode a bit, as well as set...
  2. Re: [RESOLVED] Inserting RichText from RTBs into MS Acess (2007)

NEVER MIND...I simply did a select statement on the same field that has all those characters and it returned it properly into a new RichTextBox as it should....
Even though the text doesn't look...
  3. [RESOLVED] Inserting RichText from RTBs into MS Acess (2007)

(This is from a different thread with a different Title...got THAT type of issue solved, but as this is a new approach to my original goal, I believe it best to start a new thread with an applicable...
  4. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Yes, it does seem simple enough...BUT, I am obviously doing something wrong.

I have a richtextbox (RTB1) with "Sam Oscar Brown" showing on the VB form.

The following code only puts the STRING...
  5. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Hmmm...after a quick Google (my friend), I see that Access 2007 and better indeed accepts RTF formatting in memo fields. Now, all I have to do is test the insertion of a formatted text into the db...
  6. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Well, let me ask you, dilettante, how will I put the colored text into the Jet DB in the first place?

Here's my situation. I used to use an MS ACCESS DB (still have it available). I created the...

  8. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

As I was rereading my post (before your last one, westconn1, I had that revelation of using isnumeric...I thought I'd convert that to a string and THEN count the number of characters, like 100 would...

  11. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Beginning to dislike Excel A LOT!

But first, thanks specifically to westconn1. Going through the already pasted contents of the RTBs (30 per load---I plan on colors needed only in the ANSWERS in...
  12. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

westconn1...what is "c"? Declared as "Dim c" (which I understand to be Variant) works. What SHOULD it be declared as?

    Re: Index Records

bad idea....you'd have to keep adding zeroes as you increased numbers...think 100, 1000, etc.

Numeric is the way to go.....
  14. Re: [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Your code works fine (tested in small app)....have yet to test it for time in my game program....later today....thanks. Will advise.
  15. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

As it now takes about 20 seconds (with a sleep 100 between each of the 60 rtbs (30 clue/30 answer) (plus 6 category and 3 for Final JEOPARDY!) just to copy-paste from Excel, I've opted to NOT try to...
  16. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

jpbro...thx...APPEARS to have remedied THAT hiccup.
  17. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

    Darn!

I thought the sleep command, in the loop below, would allow enough time for each PASTE to take place, but obviously now not. Yesterday, several runs, no issue. Today, a few trial runs (of...

  20. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Still haven't gotten to some of these proposals yet, but did notice that the ClipBoard couldn't keep up. Loaded, in a loop, 30 rtb's. Some didn't get 'pasted' in using SendMessage(). Added a Sleep...
  21. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Thx westconn1....I'll get to this in a bit...redesigning my game a bit first.
  22. Re: Strange Situation Related to Run-time Error 5!

Cheater's way out..declaring variables like "Dim myVariable" is declaring it as a Variant. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. Habit SHOULD BE to declare them as they are to be used...in...

  25. Re: Strange Situation Related to Run-time Error 5!

Not sure why it is not working...EXCEPT possibly your declaration of OpenExe. Should be Dim OpenExe as String. However, I would refrain from making variables the same name as a control (use Dim...

  28. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

Hmmmm....lotta work (copy-pasting things I don't understand!!!0....probably will settle with bold/underline...BUT, I will try to see how this enumeration MIGHT help me determine what's there.
  29. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

    I'll try it tomorrow, west.
  30. Re: Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB

That is exactly what I did...created a secondary Word document which only included those 'cells' that I wanted to have different fonts within them. Extra work (obviously) and a pain.

    I would like...
  31. [RESOLVED] Revisit Font Color from Excel to VB6 RTB
