  1. Re: printing without showing excel sheet

    ? All that code is commented out. If you don't want excel to show, don't make it visible (set to false instead).

    Re: Save to database.. Please help

    So what IS? In your OP, you stated "but for now i would like to just save 5 to the database.", ,and in post #9, you again said: "i am asking for help to save data to an access database"....

    SO? ...
  4. Re: how to make autocomplete text box search In DB

    Ayup.....! (that is, YES, in my northeastern US accent). Either will work.
    Did you try?

    PS-if you add this bit of code after the Loop command, it will automatically populate your textbox after...
  5. Re: how to make autocomplete text box search In DB

    I, for one, am not going to contradict LaVolpe....LOT more experienced than I will ever be. I offer a slightly different solution (note LaVolpe uses debug print to show YOU what is returned, I...

    Re: Save to database.. Please help

    Guess what some have said, you are a bit impatient....Access DBs are EASY to use....here is a small example of how to take your information and save to a table in an Access DB. Pretty...
  7. Re: getting last Saturday of the month Alarm

    Excuse for 'butting in', but post #6 (the first set of code) gives you the last saturday of the month.
    If YOUR code in your OP worked for the last Sunday, then simply use logo's code in #6 will give...
  8. Re: Get index number of array elements containing certain string

    I believe something like this, using a collection, is what Schmidt was getting at...

    Dim idxCollection As Collection
    Set idxCollection = New Collection
    Dim i As Integer
    Dim idx
    For i = 0 To...
  9. Re: Replication not working with Access2003

  10. Re: make your system will expire in a certain period

    No, you cannot delete an executable file that is, well, 'executing'. Really no need to delete it, just close it...like:

    Private Sub Form_Load()
    If DateValue(Label2.Caption) < Date Then
    MsgBox...

    Re: Disable Ctrl-Tab in MDI child forms

    Have you tried the Form's key_press event? That, I believe, will work even if another control has focus....
    example:

    Option Explicit
    Private Sub Command1_Click()
    Text1.SetFocus
    End Sub...
  13. Re: Read data using vb6 by matching variables

    Correct MarkT...it doesn't....In your 'error' line, note that KPCM is equal to IGM and JGM plus 5, so that really doesn't need to be read it, but if it is, it can be ignored. (and of course, if is...
  14. Re: Read data using vb6 by matching variables

    Clear.
    However, I have this question. Will you KNOW in advance, before loading the file, what variable names will be in that file? And will you have already declared those variables? Will the...
  15. Re: Read data using vb6 by matching variables

    A couple of things....
    1-Your text file has two tabs between the first and second columns (except for the last line, which has a bunch of spaces). I modified to file to have two tabs for ALL...
  16. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Good point...."I" prefer the msgbox as can "I" can usually immediately see the issue within the message; however, beginners (or experienced developers using complex SQLs) may elect your alternative....

    Re: parsing again with two splits

    Can you post the incoming data? That would help us understand better. And, kinda looking for what you are trying to find....is it all UIDs and all NickNames? Just wondering.
  18. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    It would behoove you (that means, it would be to your benefit) if you would download the "Black Book" for Visual Basic 6, available HERE. Go through it, page by page, you can learn a lot from this...
  19. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    You REALLY have extremely little knowledge of how to code in VB. Like I suggested a long time ago, go to class, get a book, STUDY!

    StrSql = "SELECT * FROM Customers where fullname = '" &...
  20. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    oops, sorry...darn cut/paste...was trying to merge salsa's code with mine...as DM says:

    StrSql = "SELECT * FROM Customers where fullname = '" & txtSubject.Text & "' and DAY(DateBirth) = '" &...
  21. Re: Find total number of lines which has "+" sign

    Read the file in line by line, and each time the line includes a + sign, increment a counter.
    Like:

    Dim myLine As String
    Dim selfile As String
    Dim y as Integer
    dim numLinesWithPlusSign as...
  22. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    It READS:

    SELECT everything from the customers table WHERE the fullname field is equal to the text value of txtSubject AND the day of datebirth is equal to the day of today AND the month of...
  23. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Salsa...you didn't listen to DM....this works:

    StrSql = "SELECT * FROM Customers where fullname = '" & txtSubject.Text & "' and DAY(DateBirth) = '" & DAY(Date) & "' AND MONTH(DateBirth) = '"...
  24. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Oh yeah, I didn't 'fix' that first part of the line....I DO have 'AND' in MY query.

    Good catch.
  25. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Not in MY database...works fine for me. Are you checking for ucase/lcase, that is, does the upper and lower case of FullName (in your database) match exactly what is in txtSubject.text?
  26. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    try this:

    Dim rs As New ADODB.Recordset
    rs.Open "SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE FullName = '" & txtSubject.Text & "' & DAY(DateBirth) = '" & DAY(Date) & "' AND MONTH(DateBirth) = '" &...
  27. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    I also did a couple programs using an msflexgrid to temporarily hold all the 'data' on a person, and used GMAIL to send me the notification....here's the section that populates the grid using...
  28. Re: do i need to use here 2 where clause ?

    Salsa....yes, please check your old posts...I gave you an example on how to use datediff to do just what you wanted to do. As I told you before, as well, I have a program (a couple, actually), that...
  29. Re: Can MSHFlexgrid calculate the total of a column with "group by"?

    Have you researched Data Reports?
    Good tutorial at this link: http://www.vbtutor.net/vb6/lesson40.html (Yes, it's for VB6.)
  30. Re: [RESOLVED] Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    Good point, DM....didn't even look at the logic of his code. I suppose, if there were 6 million records, then the progress bar would move 'slower', but still, nothing is being "loaded", Salsa. If...
  31. Re: [RESOLVED] Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    If his pbar (Bar) IS a 3rd-P, then probably Bar.text = Int(Bar.Value * 100 / Bar.Max) & "%" would work
  32. Re: Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    To show percent IN A LABEL, you can do this:

    Label1.Caption = Int(ProgressBar1.Value * 100 / ProgressBar1.Max) & "%"

    ..where, in this example, the progressbar is named (the default)...
  33. Re: Show % in PrgBar Dosnt seem to work

    A progressbar does not have a text or textalignment property. Don't see how you are not getting an error with bar.text and bar.textalignment.
    Bar IS your progressbar, correct?
  34. Re: Retrieve Last Inserted ID in MS Access

    like:

    select max(id) as maxid from tablename
  35. Re: Retrieve Last Inserted ID in MS Access

    have you tried "max id"?
  36. Re: Can MSHFlexgrid calculate the total of a column with "group by"?

    Instead of resurrecting a 5 year old thread....
    Why don't you just post in a new thread what you want. "...need some help like this program..." doesn't tell us anything.
    What are you doing?
    What...

    Re: something color with MSFlexGrid

    Re: MDIchild to appear in center

    1-As you will have many child forms, use something like this in a module....

    frm.Left = (frmParent.ScaleWidth / 2) - (frm.Width / 2)
