  1. Re: [RESOLVED] Query not returning any record

It depends on what you need to pass and return.

For example If I had that a text field that consists of 5 characters each of them either a 0 or a 1
If I wanted to get all records that start with...
  2. Re: [RESOLVED] Query not returning any record

Yes it would be ? if using the very old outdated DAO but that was not the point. The point is that you do not have to use % or * for a like statement but it is the more common way to do it.
  3. Re: [RESOLVED] Query not returning any record

While in most case you would use the % sign as part of a like statement it is not required to do so. It just depends on what you are searching for. In some cases the _ would need to be used.
    For...

  7. Re: Error : operation is not allowed when the object is open in vb6

I had not paid attention to you actual insert statement before but I see that too is not right. You do not use a where clause on an insert query. Insert adds a new record to the database.
    If you...
  8. Re: Error : operation is not allowed when the object is open in vb6

You are still using a recordset for your insert. Recordsets are used to hold a result set as you would get with a Select Query. You do not use recordsets for Update, Insert or Delete queries.
    What...

Re: Hi, I'm new and want to ask a question

qBasic does not build exes and must be present on the target system before anything you have written in it will run.

VBDos is a good choice if you can find it. It is basically Quick Basic but with...
  11. Re: Error : operation is not allowed when the object is open in vb6

You should not be using a recordset to execute an insert statement.
    Remove this part
    Set rsa =
    and line 40

    also remove this line
    Set rsa = New ADODB.Recordset

Re: Hi, I'm new and want to ask a question

Not really. VB6 is designed to create programs for 32 bit Windows systems

  18. Re: How shall I populate my table access in vb6 ado?

It is better to have a single value in a text box, you can add each item to the list as it is entered or you can just add them to the db as they are entered, You can...

  20. Re: How shall I populate my table access in vb6 ado?

Yes you can do this with text boxes, or a file or variables or whatever. You'll need to either use a recordset object or insert queries

Re: issue with edit in database

I would expect you to get an error with the code posted since you have your .edit outside the loop and the .update inside the loop
    The proper structure is

Does the field contain an empty string or is it null when no remarks are present?

If null then you must use the null keyword as null is not equal to an empty string
