I fear you're on your own in that, since that is a very specific task which involves
a concrete measuring-system from a concrete vendor, which should have provided
concrete specifications about...
No - the Demo above does not support "Classic VB-Events" currently (the higher-level
Threading-Support of the vbRichClient5.dll would allow for that though).
But the Demo as it currently is,...
Just posted an example which shows an alternative way of:
"creating AX-Dll-ClassInstances on their own threaded Apartments"
into the Codebank:...
Just for those who want to try a proven approach, which works reliably (and comparably simple)
in spanning up STAs (Single-Threaded-Apartments) for over 10 years now (one can use his own...
The Flag which enables the selection of multiple Files is: OFN_ALLOWMULTISELECT ...
And I tried with the new RC5-version 5.0.31 to handle the ZeroChar-Detection
on returned results a bit...
Are you sure, that you didn't activate the MultiFile-Select-Flag (OFN_ALLOWMULTISELECT)?
Because that's the return-format which gets delivered, in case you made a selection of multiple Files.
The enclosing in double-quotes should be on the FileName-part only - not around the whole mci-string.
As for why your App.Path (which resolves to an UNC-Path then) is not working - maybe...
Direct2D should be shipped even with the Base-version of Win7 -
and when the artefacts are gone, just by switching the WaitForVerticalBlank-Flag Off (to its default),
then there's apparently...
In case it is VB6 you're using - all you have to do is, to look for a Web-Hoster which offers
"classic ASP" (not to interchange with ASP.NET) on an MS-HostSystem with an installed IIS.
Here's a variation of a resizable Demo, which doesn't use DirectX or Direct2D,
just plain Cairo-Drawing (which is entirely CPU-based).
Introduced a rotating "Star-Wheel" in the center, to make...
Such things are normally handled within a (single) Timer which is set to the blinking-frequency - as e.g.:
Private Sub Timer1_Timer()
If Check1.Value Then Shape1.FillColor =...
Tuned the SQLite-version by another factor 4 now (whilst building up the initial Tree from the DB-Table).
Think I'll leave it at that (has enough reserves for e.g. 30000...
I've named the Widget-Class I've posted above: cwMyWidget -
and had a ucPanel included in the fresh Std-Project as well...
Then the following was sufficient in the VB-Form (after drawing-up the...
FWIW, here a version, where I've converted the original JET-DB (Data.mdb) 1:1 to an SQLite-DB
(Data.db3 ... using the built-in RC5-cConverter-Class).
Not many differences Code-wise, but the...
If you download the newest vbWidgets-Archive from GitHub beforehand, (added an additional
Property to cwTree, which the new Code relies on) - the following Demo should do what you want:
One way would be, to use the IDEs ObjectExplorer, selecting the WidgetClass in question
(all the Events a given Class may raise, are marked with a "Flash-Icon").
Easier perhaps is, to type (in an...
Yep, such a "loose Binding" as we have it here ...
(a Control "without Data", but with an associated Data-Container -> a cRecordset)
that allows quite some flexibility - e.g. in case you need more...
The (ZeroBased) VList.ListIndex can be used for a lookup into the currently associated
cRecordset over its .ValueMatrix-Method (which works zerobased on its RowIndex, too).
Some slight changes in...
If you look carefully into the line you commented out above - it is always the lstBids.Widget
which is passed into the Theme-Rendering routine (hence the same Theme-coloring for the Header,
No, that's unrelated to velocity or that an RC5-Form is used now - it's simply
stretching-artefacts which are related to the GPU (your graphics-chip) - whilst
it works in conjunction with either...
I thought that was the reason of the whole exercise (to get back a relation between your original file,
and what Filename windows came up with, due to an already existing one in the target-folder)....
No, it is not always returned as 16.
What's returned, depends on the current Hash-Algo you've choosen (MD5 being only one of them).
It's a generic API - which hands back to you the needed...
Yes, there's an older, still supported mode - which involves the definition and usage
of a generic (Std-Exe-Project-Private) UserControl (Code for that "ucPanel" further below).
Since you're using the RC5 already for the Data- and Web-related parts,
why not use the Widgets from vbWidgets.dll for flickerfree rendering in your GUI.
The cwVList is easily adaptable to simple...
Small Example for those who use it already as an "API-Replacement-helper" -
here's the same thing using vbRichClient5:
Private Sub Form_Load()
Const BaseFolder$ =...
And to expand on jpbro's suggestion further...
These days I'd serialize my Classes to JSON (especially when long-time-storage is planned),
to be more flexible with regards to providing also...
I've just added a variation (at the end of Post #1), which should be more suitable for ScreenSaver-Mode (less CPU-intensive).
It is using the RC5-Form-Engine instead of the VB-Forms in the...
You will have to handle the current Color-Value in the cBall-Class (either in a Private-Var,
or in the cBall.Draw-Routine itself as a Static-Variable - as is currently done e.g. for the Txt-Path...
I place Pointer-Arithmetic usually only in compiled Dlls.
Dlls, which I always compile to Native-Code (with all extended Options checked,
except the first one when I deal with SafeArrays in my...
Here's SourceCode for a small VB-usercontrol which internally uses a 32Bit BGRA-VB-Array,
to store the Bitmap-info (without wasting any handles, as would be the case with a true DIB).
It can load...
The whole topic of fast Wordscanning (over a SafeArray), as well as efficient counting -
was covered in a quite recent thread already:
In such cases you're better off, when you convert this CSV-File manually first.
1) either inserting the parsed Records into a DB-Table
.. suitable engines which allow easy DB-File-creation are: ...
Do you have any DoEvents in your Code (direct or indirect behind some of your own Method-calls)?
Or is that "OutOfProcess-Remoting"?
The error you've shown suggests a "Zombie" (an Object-Var or...
Since you seem unable to enhance it (getting it right from my suggested approach) -
I guess I have to deliver code which is more suitable for Copy&Paste ... <sigh>.
So, here we go (although this...
Well, what shall I do, other than pointing out which methods to use, to
determine the scrollrange in case the document is larger than the viewport.
When they don't work, then you're doing...
Seems like you didn't use the code exactly as I posted it (although claiming so in your post #9 -
that's not nice, because it has cost me 10minutes or so (digging out the old XP-VM) - for nothing....
Hmm, just ran it on two XP-VMs I have - one quite old (still with IE6) -
the other one updated (running IE8) - and on both machines I cannot
reproduce what you say:
I refrain from posting the...
What have you tried so far?
Googling this, reveals quite some stuff about the topic -
from the "convhulln"-function in mathlab, to other sites which try to explain
the principle on which this...
Erm, I still can't see what it is you're trying to accomplish.
If it is a *.frm-File-Importer, then how does any DataBase come into play here?
If it is not (and we are talking about dynamically...
No, it is not (at least not in my test I just did on Win8) -
the Control.Width and .Height differs from the scrollWidth and -Height of its content.
If you make the Control somewhat smaller on...
