  1. Re: Fast way to convert image to black and white

Woops - I hadn't noticed the OP was setting only black and white pixels. As Vexslasher said, my code creates a greyscale image. You should probably still convert to luminance and then pick your...
  2. Re: Fast way to convert image to black and white

FastPix by boopsboops will really speed things up:

VS 2008 Re: Simple Font Solution

    Here is a code snippet from some font code I wrote a while ago;

  4. Re: Visual Password - Adding a password login

You need to make your login form the startup form. On my VB2010 I can find that under Project > Properties > Application - it might be slightly different on other versions of VB.

Re: How to solve this definition problem?

Although I haven't tried it, my guess would be that you should wait until the form "Shown" event occurs before trying to read the size of the Picturebox. Form Load might be too early.
  6. VS 2015 Re: Using UCase on lower case characters

Checking for lower case characters would probably take as long as just doing the conversion anyway. If you only want to change the case of column 0 you should do only that, not loop through all...
  7. VS 2010 Re: Can''t catch an exception in USING block

Sorry for the delay - the forum was mostly inaccessible yesterday. Lots of "Database error" issues loading the page.

I copied the offending code into a new project and the Try-Catch block works...
  8. VS 2010 Re: Can''t catch an exception in USING block

I'm looking in Exceptions on the Debug menu (VB Express 2010) and I think all check boxes are where they should be.
  9. VS 2010 Re: Can''t catch an exception in USING block

The code never reaches the Catch line:

    135665

Not easy to read that small image but I'm sure you get the idea.
  10. VS 2010 Re: Can''t catch an exception in USING block

OK .... I think. I thought the code would still jump to the catch statement if there was an error, but it doesn't. Anyway, I have replaced the old code in several places and feel much better for it!...
  11. VS 2010 [RESOLVED] Can''t catch an exception in USING block

Why can't I catch the "file not found" error in this function?

VS 2013 Re: Seems to be running "phantom" code !?!

The usual cause of this is your click event code is missing the "handles" clause. For example:

    Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

VS 2010 Re: Error: Open Files From my project

Try changing your Start button code to:

    System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(TextBox1.Text)

Although you should check it's a valid path (the user may not have entered anything yet).
  17. VS 2013 Re: Win10: The operating system is not adequate for running “myApp”.

Yes, InstallShield 2015, as you will see if you follow my link.

Personally, I like Inno setup. Check it out here:

  18. VS 2013 Re: Win10: The operating system is not adequate for running “myApp”.

I've never used InstallShield but a quick Google search suggests you need version 2015 to support Windows 10:

  21. VS 2010 Re: [RESOLVED] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression

Many thanks for that. I had looked up reserved keywords for Access but not Jet.
  22. VS 2010 Re: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression

I think I've fixed it. I had a field ("column" if you prefer) in my table called "Band". I renamed it and the update seems to be working. I can't find reference to "Band" being a reserved keyword,...
  23. VS 2010 Re: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression

  26. VS 2010 Re: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression

GiQSOid is just the primary key field of the database. There is no other SQL. You can assume it is "Select * from tblLog where tblLog.LogID = 1" - where "1" is definitely a valid row in the Access...
  27. VS 2010 [RESOLVED] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression

  32. Re: How can I create a Histogram for an image?

  36. VS 2010 Re: Creating a directory in an FTP Server?
