Yes all APIs are easy to use till you actually have to use them.

Our API is so user-friendly, it only takes a team of experienced developers and several sleepless nights to implement!

  8. Re: Design-Question: one or two tables for "personal" data?

In your shoes, I would go for two separate tables. It is tempting to have all of them in the same table, but that would make it complex when it comes to getting reports. Also your code becomes less...

Set the outside box on fire. That will kill the virus if it exists. Then douse the box with water before the container inside melts.

This is the approach that I have advocated for the longest period of time. Once you have it in a DB, you automatically get all the access issues sorted.
  30. Re: Call SQL Server stored procedure from C# and determine commit or rollback

What if the client code has to fire several stored procedures?
You wouldn't want to commit in between.
It is easier to control the entire transaction through the client.
  31. Re: Call SQL Server stored procedure from C# and determine commit or rollback

One thing I can suggest is to not have COMMIT / ROLLBACK statements in your stored procedures if the procedure is being called from a client application.
Let the client application control the...
