  1. Re: How to test an uninitialized dynamic array without using On Error Sentence

To summarize what those three threads would tell you: Either you live with error trapping or you delve into the OLE API that deals with SAFEARRAYs. In the past I always used error trapping, never...

    Re: Understanding Multi-Threading in VB.Net

Nice to hear this has been helpful. :)

I think you may be holding onto a few misconceptions. Firstly, objects aren't really thread specific in the strictest technical terms. While some...

    Re: Script development

I tend to consider scripts as programs that only make sense within a specific context, usually a sandbox of some kind like a web browser or a game engine. VB6 can interact with the OS itself in an...

    Re: Understanding Multi-Threading in VB.Net

As passel said, it depends on if the thread in question is a background thread. I explained in the tutorial that an application stops only when all foreground threads are stopped. When all foreground...

    Re: Post Race!

Well it could be only a cognitive necessity. I've ready somewhere that it can be likened to needing time to defrag a hard disk. That theory makes sense as well.

    Re: Post Race!

When you really think about it, it doesn't seem that strange at all. Think about what would happen if you left a car running for a week straight. Without "sleep", I doubt it would last very long....

  10. Re: [RESOLVED] how do you delete a thread on this forum?

The 15 minute limit idea is a bad idea. In my case, I would be unable to edit my OPs for CodeBank submissions whenever I make updates to whatever is posted.

  16. Re: Is there any 2D animation software out there thats easy to use?

Well I don't have any experience in this but I do know the main advantage with Adobe Flash is that its ubiquitous, which is to say that everybody has it and its platform agnostic since it runs in a...

Re: C++ or c# for directX10 games development?

C++ is best suited to utilize DirectX. DirectX was made with C++ developers in mind. That is not to say that other languages cannot utilize DirectX. You can use XNA to do game development in C# if...

  22. Re: Visual Studio 2013 no more upper case menu text

That's great. Think I'll upgrade to VS2012 on my next re-install.
  23. Re: Visual Studio 2013 no more upper case menu text

That ugly uppercase menu is one of the reasons I was hesitant to move from VS2010. Nice to know they finally added a way to deal with it.

Re: C# have more "tools" available?

XNA can be used with VB, it just doesn't have a template for VB projects, only C#. To use XNA in VB you have to manually add the assemblies.

However, the only text you cannot put there is "banned" which is prevented by the forum software because its reserved for banned users. That way no one can fake their ban status as being banned.
