  1. Re: Plugin framework without DLL registering

Normally you have something like a "plugins" folder and your application would look there for DLLs. You can certainly do this with assembly manifests as well.

I'm not sure how we got onto...
  2. Re: Plugin framework without DLL registering

There is also an officially sanctioned way to do this based on reg-free assembly isolation manifests by using the Microsoft.Windows.ActCtx object.

This has several issues though. For one thing...

In case it jsn't clear enough for you...

Office 11 is Office 2003, and you don't have Office 2003. Thus you must use an Office 12 library reference to early bind to the Office 2007 MODI library.
  4. Re: [VB6] MS Office (MODI) OCR - OCR "for free"

The Office team at Microsoft has never cared a whit for standards, conventions, or courtesy. As a result one of the crosses we bear as supplicants on our knees at their altar is the fact that they...

Re: VB6 error in Windows 7

People often used the old ANSI DBGrid from VB5 but then forget to install it later when they try to reinstall VB6 onto a new machine.

As it says in That Fine Manual:

    In other words VB6...

Re: Embeded DLL in a DLL

You don't normally provide a full path in the Declare anyway, but instead use a simple name and let Windows use its DLL Search to find the library. DLL locations can also be specified using...

Re: Embeded DLL in a DLL

You can't. VB5, VB6 do not support static linking.

Re: Embeded DLL in a DLL

No, there isn't a way to do this.

What you are asking for is static linking. VB6 does not support this, and even if it did you would need a static library ("3nhAi.lib") instead of a dynamic one....

Note that there is a good chance that before long all of those RAD languages will have been replaced by (of all things!) JavaScript. Even Microsoft has begun to adopt Node.js as the engine running...

    Re: Separate Block of Text...

For VB6 just use a Replace$() call, for VB5 look for functions that replicate Replace$().

While you say you want CRs, more likely you want CRLFs instead.

  22. Re: How to find closest match beteen 2 numbers

    I'm not sure.

However Microsoft has made changes to ADO and "web folders" that basically broke "WebSpring" so we have to use alternatives now. See post #4 above.

Re: How to hash a file

  27. Re: [RESOLVED] Vb6: 3421 Data Type Conversion Error

It sure seems odd that an API would return the sort of result your program stumbled over though.

Re: How to hash a file

Hashes and checksums are normally performed only against raw binary data. So you need to be able to read the file data as binary data. In VB6 you can do this using the native I/O statements, but...
