  1. Re: type in text and auto complete name need some help

If you want to see ALL the names that start with the typed-in letter(s), you are going to have to have more than a textbox (what you said in #11)

Here is a simple example that shows all the names...

Re: 862nd Form and "Out of memory" Error

862(1) forms AT ONE TIME???????????? You free memory by closing the forms you don't need AT THE MOMENT. I HIGHLY doubt (REALLY) that any program needs that many active forms. Weird.

    I did not...

    Re: Run-Time error 340?

Count the number of command buttons you have in your array....then debug your program to see what the value that is being used in trying to make visible and disabled. If you have an array of 8...
  5. Re: Maximized form - Control locations

    Never Mind.....Head Space and Timing.
Shape1 was in a Frame, while Frame8 was not....fixed....sorry for the time anyone took to try to figure this one out.

  6. [RESOLVED] Maximized form - Control locations

I show a second form on a separate monitor, TV or projection screen. I maximize the form BUT NOT THE CONTROLS (on purpose).
During the display, I want to show a frame (it was hidden) and have it...
  7. Re: progressbar with no timer possble?

Guess this wasn't a good enough hint:

    :D:D
  8. Re: progressbar with no timer possble?

Yeah, that is what I said, but he didn't pay attention:
  9. Re: progressbar with no timer possble?

I was just being, well...never mind....forget about the clock....use a timer to notify the user of something if that is what you want to do every so many seconds........

    ...Somewhere in your code:...
  10. Re: progressbar with no timer possble?

Well, 'not without a timer' control is not quite correct. You can always use the clock (which the time essentially does, I assume) and after so many seconds passed in the clock, change your text...
  11. Re: progressbar with no timer possble?

    No, not without a timer....
Again, WHY? Why random text values (wait...., loading...., Ready...)?
If you want, why not simply use a timer (after some event is initiated) to 'automatically' close...
  12. Re: progressbar with no timer possble?

What are you trying to do? You are really misusing a progressbar here, as I suspect you set up your progressbar on erroneous code.

If you already know the trigger points in your code where...

What are your problems with your PBar?
  14. Re: [RESOLVED] "adodc1.connectionstring" issue

Think we are just going in circles....my comment in #11 was not meant for you to ADD OERN code....you should avoid this in most cases.

So, as this is a semester project, it probably does not have...

    Re: Datediff sql function

    In addition, in this:

    sqlStr = "SELECT DATEDIFF(dd,'2014-11-29','2014-11-30')as diffdate",

a space is missing after the closing bracket before 'as'

Re: Sort Order of Dir() Function

I am not sure what order they are returned, but you can implement a quicksort routine to sort by date, length, alphanumeric, etc.
  20. Re: create excel file without excel installed in vb6.0

Yup....sure 'tis. I misunderstood your explanation in #25.
I DO see an issue though....let's say I want my Header in cell A1 to be "LAVOLPE!". What you posted would result in an error (field...
  21. Re: never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called customers

But "I" would.....:D Just makes SENSE to me (listbox, not listview). I am not good at MS Access SQl compound queries, so I do things a bit slower, but easier for me. Too old to learn that stuff...
  22. Re: create excel file without excel installed in vb6.0

--- (Sometimes). When I open this test file, and go to sort, the 'has headers' is not checked, so sorting works with all rows. Then, of course, if I select that option, you are correct.

    YUP!...
  23. Re: never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called customers

I know how "I" would do it (the bull and jamb way)...I would select the customers' names from each table, put them into a listbox, then after I have gone through Y1 thru Y4 to do that, I'd loop...
  24. Re: never done this before How to insert 4 tables to 1 table called customers

will all these customers in the five tables be DIFFERENT from each other, or will some be duplicates?
  25. Re: create excel file without excel installed in vb6.0

    It is definitely ignored, as cn.ConnectionString = "provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; data source= " & App.Path & "\test1.xls; Extended Properties=""Excel 8.0""" produces same results...

  26. Re: create excel file without excel installed in vb6.0

Played around a bit....can't seem to 'fix' that, however, if I place the 'value' of cell A1 to be, as the field name, it is fine. However, only table field naming conventions are allowed...like...

  28. Re: Connection cannot be used to perform this operation

I'm assuming your error is on the rs.Open line?

Why don't you post this kind of thread in the database forum?
  29. Re: [RESOLVED] "adodc1.connectionstring" issue

    Agree totally with PW....

And, just creating a variable (pth) and assigning it the value of App.Path does NOT address the issue mentioned above about apps being installed in the default Program...

  31. Re: "adodc1.connectionstring" issue

  34. Re: "adodc1.connectionstring" issue

  35. Re: "adodc1.connectionstring" issue

    add this before your code:

What does it say? Now, look at that directory (App.Path) using windows explorer; is add_pateint.mdb present there?
