  1. Re: Calling Oracle function from MS Access

I'm not going to make corrections to my post, but rather I'll just repeat myself.

Well, that's nice. I can only guess that the error has something to do with eels. Your best bet would be to...

    Re: help on count rows.

MAX(Cinema_Order) needs to appear in both select statements of the union. The ORDER BY applies to the WHOLE data set... not just the last one. The WHOLE set. So if you order by something, it has to...
  3. Re: Calling Oracle function from MS Access

I don't see how Access plays into this. I don't see any place where you connected to Access... are you saying that you're running this from inside an Access database? Or is this from VB6 code?

    Re: help on count rows.

maybe it would help if I could SEE what you're getting... all I have to go by is what you're telling us. Unfortunately I'm more of a visual type where a picture is worth a thousand words. I'm not...

VS 2010 Re: Syntax Error In Query Expression?

sounds like an if statement is needed. check to see if the message is empty or not.

on another note... going back to the original issue, you may want to consider using parameters. I'm not sure...

    Re: help on count rows.

    Correct, sorry about that.

They shouldn't be random... they should be the first 5 rows, followed by a sixth row which has all of the others... if you're not getting that, then something is...
  7. Re: Need clarification about the use of Namespaces

Unless they're nested namespaces... I've done that before....

    Re: help on count rows.

I think you almost have it... in order to calc the pct though, you need the totals...

    SELECT SUM(Admissions + CoolAdmissions) TotalAdmissions
    ,sum(Admissions) as...

  10. Re: What is Inbound and Outbound Links in SEO?

Inbound is what it sounds like - links from other sources to your site.
Outbound is the opposite, links from your site to others.

  11. Re: Need clarification about the use of Namespaces

I think that's what happens in C#, but not in VB.NET ... at least my experience has been that unless I explicitly specify the namespace in a class, it just exists in the root, regardless of what...

VS 2010 Re: [RESOLVED] drop down textbox

Forget the GAC and just add a reference to it... browse to where the dll is and select it. If it still then doesn't appear in the General section of your toolbox, then I'd question whether the...

VS 2010 Re: [RESOLVED] drop down textbox

You right click, Add reference... and find it... you should only need to browse (as .paul. is showing) if it isn't in the GAC. If you've GAC'd it correctly, the library will show up in that list. If...
  14. Re: problem connecting vb.net with sql server 2008

Well you're providing the connection string twice, and not even the same connection string.

Woah... actually your problems go deeper than that... you defined con as an ADODB.Connection object,...

VS 2010 Re: drop down textbox

You have to make a reference to it. Even if it's in the GAC, you still need to reference the assembly before it will show up. Once you reference it, then it will be available in your toolbox.

  19. Re: Need clarification about the use of Namespaces

I don't agree, but I don't disagree either. Like a lot of times in programming - it depends. In the case of my work, yeah, it's a sanity saver. When I'm working at home on my pet projects, I might...
  20. Re: Need clarification about the use of Namespaces

    Re: vsprintf in VB

My bad you meant string builder as a concept... I took it to mean StringBuilder as the class. :P Can I blame it on lack of sleep? I'm running on fumes and the coffee hasn't been much help.
