    Re: Post some classic links up

    Back in my mainframe days I set up a command list on someone's computer that would randomly, based on day and time combinations, remap a couple of his function keys. He sat next to be and I'd here...

    Stumbled across this one. I haven't tried it though:

  8. Re: Wildcard search algorithms, simulating the Like function in vb.net

    Start by breaking it down in little pieces for us. We don't have a clue what you want other than the subject line. For example what kind of file, how large is it, how does it need searched and why?...

    Cool...Learn something new everyday. What would the type show if VB wasn't installed?

    Never mind. I renamed a text file Test.txt to Test.xyz and the filetype comes up as "XYZ File"

    I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion. We are just looking at a windows folder. The project was updated yesterday so I'm guessing, since the OP is asking, he/she didn't do it.

  20. Re: Retrieving row value from SQL database

    It struck me odd you saying "MsgBox requires a string". It seems to work for me as integer in VB 6.0 and .Net:

    VB 6.0

    MsgBox (123)
    Dim mMsg As Integer
    mMsg = 123
    MsgBox (123)
