  4. Re: Count the number of characters after a certain number of characters

Get the number of characters of the entire string in the usual way (.length), and subtract your start position.

  9. VS 2010 Re: OleDbException Unhandled (No value given for one or more required parameters.)

No, that is not related to your latest code at all - it is just something that you should understand.

The error is unfortunately vague, and I can't see anything obviously wrong... I would...
  10. Re: Two ASCII characters with the same number ?

Rather than Asc, try using AscW (the 'Unicode' version).

Yep, different fonts can make this kind of thing interesting!
  11. VS 2010 Re: OleDbException Unhandled (No value given for one or more required parameters.)

This would be why it isn't showing any errors:
That was an instruction for you to do something... you had something in post #7 that would work.

    Re: SQL Query Help

Thread moved to the 'Database Development' forum - which is where you should always post SQL questions (while SQL can be used in VB.Net, it is certainly not specific to VB.Net)
  13. Re: How to write and run ANY query in MySql?

The file names use a very common naming convention, where the end part describes the processor type.

_arm is for Arm processors (you would know if you had one)
_x86 is for 32 bit processors
    _x64...

  15. VS 2010 Re: OleDbException Unhandled (No value given for one or more required parameters.)

Using parameters should remove the error, and solve several other problems you haven't even noticed yet.

Try the suggestion, and if you have problems getting it to work show us your attempt, and...

    Re: Error connecting to Access

With Jet (and ACE), you typically need to have permissions to read/write/create/modify files in the folder (in this case ...\bin), even if you are only reading the file.

    Re: More on parameterization.

I'm afraid I don't know, as the controls available vary by the application which hosts VBA (and it's been years since I used VBA regularly).

I'd recommend asking in the Office Development forum.

    Re: More on parameterization.

Textboxes are controls that allow string input, so they always contain strings... and strings are always "of the string variety", no matter what they look like.

If you want to stop a user from...
  28. Re: I need help with an sql statement syntax please.

If you are using ADO it is.

I see you are using DoCmd, which I suspect means you are using DAO. I'm afraid I haven't used DAO for many years, so I can't help with the syntax you would need... but...
  29. Re: I need help with an sql statement syntax please.

It wouldn't be much work... you would just copy+paste a small section of code (to set up and run the command), and replace the values that you currently append to the SQL statement with placeholders,...
  30. Re: I need help with an sql statement syntax please.

  37. VS 2010 Re: Which is faster that VB will read the code?

The code runs at the same speed. Calling a function takes a tiny amount of time, so you should ignore it unless you are doing it in a loop that you call millions of times.
