  1. Re: About making a XHTML NavBar using raw HTML source code...

Perhaps you could create a fiddle to explain your problem?

    Any of these would do:

    http://codepen.io/
    http://jsfiddle.net/
    http://www.cssdesk.com/
    http://jsbin.com/
  2. Re: [JavaScript] Get elements by class from external site

You would need CORS enabled on the server-side to get past the SOP restrictions.
  3. Re: [JavaScript] Get elements by class from external site

I'm guessing you will get blocked by Same Origin Policy in the browser if you go the JavaScript route. If you're scraping pages with a server-side or fat-client app, you wouldn't have those...

That port is called a Game port. The RS232 interface is a serial interface for modems, etc. The doubt two would be compatible/interchangable.

Re: Setting Static IP on Kubuntu

Are you using wired (eth) or wireless (wlan) interface?

Try checking the output of ifconfig. That will tell you what your current IP address is, but won't tell you static/dhcp status. When the...
  9. Re: How to keep form submittal from navigating away from page

    Re: [Javascript] Change boolean value

As szlamany said, it's a single !. You can also use a double !! (double logical-NOT) to convert truthy/falsey values to strict boolean.
  12. Re: [RESOLVED] [JavaScript] Event fires when adding handler

The radix argument to parseInt specifies the base that your string number is in. Always good to specify it to remove any confusion as different JS implementations might use a default radix other...
  13. Re: [JavaScript] Event fires when adding handler

Hard to know what's going on here without seeing the HTML that goes with this.

A few thing that I would change:

    Use parseInt instead of Number.

    Change to strict equality comparison...
  14. Re: Condition Always true when checking for "undefined" in Javascript

    if (typeof x !== 'undefined') { }

You can use the strict comparison !== operator here because you know that typeof will always return a string.

  15. Re: Where does VBFORUMS save the "text" of a post when it does that AUTOSAVE??

I would guess it might use LocalStorage. The alternative would be cookies, accessed through document.cookie, but cookies have very low storage space in comparison.

    Re: [RESOLVED] [JavaScript] For/In issue

    Re: javascript, DatePiccker problem

I would suggest just using <input type="date" /> and then including webshim in your project. This will polyfill a datepicker for browsers that don't provide one natively.

What do you mean by "top center" position? On top of the nav>ul>li? Maybe try adding the image as a CSS background-image instead of the <img/> tag?

You can do this using HTML5 form validation without any JavaScript. You will need to ensure that your target browser supports the correct attributes. If not, you can just polyfill using webshim.

Dodgy coding? You would need to create a CSS class to add to the top-level element and then prefix all style definitions in your .css with this class. ie. effectively "namespacing" for your css.

  37. Re: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource

CORS is what you want to use, if your browser supports it. Otherwise, you would be stuck with the older, less secure JSON-P.

You need to enable it on the server-side to allow it to work properly....
