    Ok ...
    1 << 6 = 64
    ... but what I want to do is pass in something like this:
    ReverseBitShift(1,64)
    ... to get 6..

    Awesome ... Never even thought of doing that :) ... like I said it should have been a non-issue anyway ... but that is a sweet work around in (what will *hopefully* be) the meantime :)

    But they are not really telling you the most helpful thing to fix the error... also like I said if ANY compiler error happens within the sub this occurs... even if it has NOTHING to do with x ... so...

    Try turning option strict on... you should do this for all your projects :)...

    Um... This just gets picked up as "Text" in VS2015 ... it was added to strongly type prop (etc) names so that if you change a name the compiler picks this up.

    Yes I was .... but I am on Windows 7 @ work with 2015 and get the same result.

    Ok... a good points ... but I think that this is still an issue with VS for a few reasons...

    A. If i change it to Sub(x As String), this declaring the type it says:
    Overload resolution failed...

    Not really .. I mean you can declare lambda functions that you pass (as prams) into functions etc... I would not really classify this as linq... I mean javascript you wouldn't really say supports...

    I always have option infer on ... and it works fine when there is no error within the sub / function ... and if I hold my mouse over the item it even states the correct inference ...

    The property strScoreA1 doesn't actually exist... it is "spoofed" property that I have created with the ICustomTypeDescriptor

    I have 2 IQueryable's ... AllMappedItems and LastAnswers

    They both work fine and only execute one sql statement each to loop through their results.

    Now the issue is when I join them using:
