But if its all dynamic and you dont know ahead of time then you wont know. If the user opens another instance of the same window then that makes it harder too. You dont want to manipulate the users...

I know that but my point is what if you dont know the z-order along with all the other points I mentioned? The z-order not being known, you wont be able to.
