Frankly, if it is not written for Metro, MS will certainly reject it, but if it IS written for Metro...everybody else will reject it.

Anyway, Flash? Good choice, but for extra cross-OS compatibility, I think you should call it from a Java applet running in the browser. The Flash plugin by itself is notoriously unreliable on Chrome 19 for Ubuntu Linux, but if you implement the Flash VM in Java too, that will fix it. It's not an easy task, though, so careful!
Oh, and for performance reasons, I would still implement the compiler in VB6. Make sure to compile it to p-code (there's a Java interpreter for that) and not a Windows binary (there isn't a Java interpreter for that).

Well I better learn better English, because that is the only Language that I speak. Apart from Director, Basic, Pascal, C++, HTML, and also Cobol, that I can use on the computers...
