What are your thoughts on it? I kind of like the fact that the iPhone finally has LTE. It may seem too late, but Apple likes to wait until they can create a handset capable of running on a new network without impacting battery life.

My advice: unless you are really hooked into the Apple ecosystem, don't spend a bunch of money on a phone that will be old news by years end. I'm jumping the Apple ship..I won't continue to spend more for less simply because of the fruit on the back. Get yourself something that will be more future proof...Galxy Note II, Galaxy S3, the upcoming Nokia, or any number of other products.
I feel my jaw breaking from yawning so hard.
Are they timing these product announcements to coincide with gullible consumers' phone contract expirations? Most of those run about two years as I recall.
Sheep for the shearing I guess.
Apple sucks, hands down. They still haven't fixed the group chat issues.
I think it's fantastic. It's very thin and light, it should be more durable due to the metal back and construction (the front and back panels are built into it or something, not attached like with the 4S.) and then it's got a processor that's twice as powerful and graphics that are twice as powerful, plus a little better battery life and 4G LTE. And the long awaited larger display which has better colour accuracy.
Fascinating stuff bout' it too, Apple has moved into making their own custom CPU architecture. If the Geek Bench score that came out is real, it's going to be very powerful. Real world improvements too, since it has better IPC rather than just adding more cores. (Quad-core on a smartphone is mostly pointless imo.)
How is buying an Android device more future proof? Android smartphones are usually bested by another after only three to six months, at least the iPhone lasts a year.
Right, thin and light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdIWKytq_q4
I wait for the iPhone 7......no...iPhone 8.
That beats everything!
Do you expect anything else from your average joe being interviewed? They've been told it's the 5, so they think it is and they compare it against what they've seen or used. I doubt any of them had a 4S. You could have probably given them the Nokia Lumia and said it's the new iPhone and they'd say it's great!
Didn't one of them hold two identical phones at the same time, and still claim one was lighter and faster?
Where's the category for those of us who think that all phones are instruments of the devil and all users of the infernal things (especially those who don't have an indoors voice or can't look forward and use them at the same time) should be first against the wall when the revolution comes then?
Remember, iPhones are like Pokemon: gotta buy 'em all!

Is there and Apple Product out there that you dont think is fantastic?
@moonman239, your account will be suspended for a week, because you have voluntarily promoted the new apple product in VBForums. :p

I think the Nokia Lumia 920 looks more promising.
Ummm, If your girlfriend switches to i-phone5 from i-phone4 just for the sake of another 1/2 inches... You sir, have a problem. :|
I heard the maps were phenomenal. Magical even.
I actually heard that they are the exact same thing as Android maps now, which would be Google maps.
I hate all things, Apple. That goes for the Machnintosh, as well. I not think that I had spelt that name right. But then that goes for my bad English that I have...
I think that is a better spelling than the correct spelling.
Could you quote the Post, with the correct spelling???
Macintosh.
Thanks for the correct spelling...
The 5 is more 'phone size'. I didn't really see a performance increase comparing the 4S and 5 side by side. It's really appears to be an incremental improvement on the 4S, nothing really astounding. However, If the 4S didn't exist, it would be a huge leap over the 4. I'm guessing, as has been noted, the 4S and 5 release dates were made to coincide with contract expiration.
I can't see why any phone is more 'future proof' than any other. Doesn't matter which phone you buy, there will always be a new one in 6 to 12 months that the 'tech world' will be convincing you is a must have. Before I got my iPhone, I'd had the old one for 7 years. It still worked very well, but the battery would only hold a charge for 3 (!) days.
If you've $200 burning a hole in your pocket, and are 'due' for an upgrade, then you could do a lot worse. That amount of money isn't a great deal when you consider what you spend on other non-essential junk. If you are struggling to save for retirement, and blaming the political class du-jour for your economic woes, then you are an idiot if you spend that money on a gizmo.
In other news, I do like my macbook: the boot up time of the PC to the macbook is like throwing a quadriplegic into a pool to compete agains Michael Phelps. The screen is a nice to look at; makes a difference going back to a regular monitor staring at primary colored squares (which reminds me, windows 8...).
Hey yeah I had a very old GSM mobile from ages gone by that only held a charge for three days and it was very cool, in deed. It was some sort of Samsung model. Then I changed to the Nokia E63, that was a major change, in deed!! However being a change, it was vey positive, in deed. Which then meant that it was a good change, due to the signal strength of the model, that I had then bought. Also there were many other upgrades that I also liked, in the E63 that I didn't have inside the Samsung slide phone that I bought, first...
In deed.
:)+<
hehe ,, that's so funny!!
I have a deed. What you are trying to place inside of it, that is my concern.
The meaning of the words In Deed:
In deed := It really is this or that really is
I am glad to hear this NeedSomeAnswers. I enjoy surprising people.
Of course there are. Some are just great, I reserve fantastic for substantial iPhone, iPad and Mac releases.
Of course I don't, that's ridiculous. And what does that have to do with Apple? The onus for Foxconn's problems is on themselves, and China's government.
Did anyone say they had a girlfriend switching to an iPhone 5 for that reason? Because I can't find it lol.
Nope, that would be the meaning of the word "indeed".Quote:

I can think of two possible meanings for the words "in deed":-
1. Contractually assured by the ownership of a property. ie contained within the text of a property deed.
2. Occurring in the form of an action, e.g. "in thought, word and deed"
As such and the like

My sister wanted to buy an iPhone, luckily, I managed to talk some sense into her. she ended up buying an Android phone.

That was some good reasoning, because it's like this: Nokia, Google or even Mircrosoft. But not the rotten Apple, in deed!!
