[RESOLVED] problem on dvd video file with windows media player
I copied a dvd video file into my hard drive two days ago. There was no problem at first. But, for no reason at all, i didn't change any settings whatsoever, there is no more audio. And worse, after trying a number of .ifo files, there will be no more video.
Previously, what i had is wmp10. I upgraded it to wmp11 and updated my codecs but still it was not fixed.
This problem does not affect .avi or .mkv videos.
Please help guys...
Thank you very much.
Re: problem on dvd video file with windows media player
Did this problem occur before or after you upgraded to wmp11?
Re: problem on dvd video file with windows media player
This problem occured before i upgrade to wmp11...
Re: problem on dvd video file with windows media player
install vista codec pack or win 7 codec pack by shark. it sounds like your mpeg2 decoder didnt survive the upgrade and media player's codec finder is worthless. get the codec pack by shark because it will detect conflicts. i just had to install this on my laptop so my tivo files would play.
Re: problem on dvd video file with windows media player
thank you for the suggestion Lord Orwell. But my OS is still winxp sp3.
as per searching at google, shark has only codec packs for vista, win 7 and win 8.
Re: problem on dvd video file with windows media player
the vista codec pack by shark actually works in xp, vista, and 7
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...-Package.shtml
under supported oses you will see xp listed
make sure you uncheck all the adware options when installing.
