I've only seen it on Unix, but it is probably on Linux as well.
I don't think that I've seen it under Windows.
But, I could be wrong, or mistaken :D
Oh thank god! Now that you're on the case scooby doo I can rest easy!Quote:

Why would it stop working? This isn't Windows we are talking about, things don't just STOP working for no reason. Did you abuse it?
Somehow I feel superior to you now. I did before, but now even more so :lol:Quote:

We are gathered here today to morn the passing of our good friend Grep.
He was a friend to all of us, even if he did scare us with his cross dressing. He lived a short but eventful life. Although he couldnt even read he still had the heart to support a struggling magazine company by advertising and buying their products.
Maybe it was his heart in the end that reached up and throttled his brain in a desperate attempt to save us all.
We thank him from the bottom of our hearts and should be pleased that we knew him in his short exciting life.
Now we commend his bits and bytes to the recycle bin in the hope that it will save us a defrag in the distant future
Rest in peace my good friend
BEEP. (Computer term for Amen)

No Wossy dont cry he is in a much better place now where he no longer needs a cpu to function.

Venerable Bede stop scaring dsheller there is no such things as ghosts and he doesnt stand a chance of recovering his friend with that naff overexpensive software. Somebody Overwrote the memory 20 times and not mentioning any names but it was a very cruel thing to do wasnt it

I always thought he was running in Power Saving mode most of the time anyway, Turbo button definitely off. But anyway, mustn't speak ill of the dead. :)Quote:

rm -Rf /
I'm wearing my boxer shorts and listening to Elton John so there.
The Grep utility belongs to SCO, so sorry, you will have to pay their $150 licensing fee from now on, once they actually establish appropriate means for someone to pay those fees. In the meantime, just imaging writing them a check.
Additionally, I'm sure a few other command utilities will fall to way side as well... like shutdown, pstree, and a few other very essential yet unglamorous functions.
If they want liscencing fees off me they can extract them from my back passage :D
If they are desperate for money then you will regret saying that
But there are loads of open source variants.Quote:

But the Shutdown command doesn't have an alternative...
Henceforth, all Linux computers will have to be manually restarted by simply unplugging it from the wall, and repluggng it back in. :)
I own the patent on that one. Now pay up :D
You mean that's not the normal way of doing it? That explains why I've got through 45 hard drives in the last 6 weeks.Quote:

I use the flip the circuit breaker method... and its much more secure than your patented method... because its open source.Quote:

No. Bill is a business man, who despite having the aura of evil, has done alot for the IT industry. So he'd more likely be sentenced to roam the earth till judgement day.
Aww man... hasn't he done anything evil I can flame him for?Quote:

Well hes done questionable things. I wouldnt say bundling IE into Windows is evil, although people will tell you it was an evil scheme that caused Netscape to crumble. Nevermind that Netscape sucked major crank during the browser wars.
:eek2:
I guess we should thank him for that... It brought us FireFox :OQuote:

Yeah, we can thank him for letting IE start sucking crank so FireFox can take over...teehee
IE always sucked crank, people just first saw it when Mozilla came along and kicked its bootyQuote:

The dog says it sucked, and so does the frog and the kittycat... Even that guy... Cander, he told me it sucks to - so shut yo mouth crazzzyy lady!Quote:

I'm going to report you lot to EDCPL (Evil and Demonic Cat's Protection League).
After I've written a stern letter to my ombudsman.
