How to unhide the deleted files by WinRAR

Hi. My friend came to me with a query that he scanned his Flash Drive with AVAST AntiVirus, which detected some malicious. He just marked all the files with deleted option and press the continue button. When AVAST deletes the files so it actually hides those files. Now he says that he had some important files, which are also (deleted) hidden there. Now the data is all hidden in his USB but it does show the space when he checks the size of the Flash Drive.

I normally use the way to open the Flash Drive in WinRAR and from there i extract them to some new folder. I've done all this and the files have been all extracted in a zip format. But when i extract the file to get my data, so it extracts it but still does not show data? :(:(:(. Please guide me how do i display them. I've even selected SHOW ALL HIDDEN FILES from Folder Options but still not working.

Hi,

I was think of getting rid of my desktop could my laptop running X64 Windows handle the programs that were installed on the desktop specifically games? Although, I doubt laptops require 16GB of RAM (amount currently install in desktop). The only downsides I can think of to switching is the decrease in RAM and the decrease in Hard-drive space (currently about 1.5TB on my desktop).

What do you think?

Hi,

My laptop is an ASUS Notebook N60Dp Series running Windows 7 and a while ago I went to reinstall the backup of the operating system done using a backup program install by the manufacture. However, the installation got to to the last disk (in this case 4 of 4) and it failed to read the disk and it doesn't look like I can recover the backup. Does anyone know if there is a way of recovering the data? I think I have the manufactures cds/dvds will the drives, etc on them but just in case I don't.

Thanks,

Upgrade to Memory requires re-activation of Windows

Strange issue.

My LapTop (Vista Professional) has 2 X 512 Mb Memory sticks. I replaced one of them with a 2Gb stick. On re-starting Windows it is now asking me to activate Windows. When I do, it says that activation has failed because the product key is in use, also, Windows Security Essentials tells me that I've failed the 'Genuine Windows Test' and will close in 30 days.

If I remove the 2Gb stick and put the old 512Mb back in I don't get the messages.

I have the original CD and Product Key (and they are both genuine)

Any ideas ?

I am building a DRO reader that will send 3, 8 bit data bytes to a LPT port, for my VB6 code I will be writing.

I know that the serial port has a good size buffer.
But do not know if and or the size of the LPT buffer is?

Did a quick search but no luck

I have no options in Outlook to highlight text. I do have these options in Word. What I've been doing, which is a pain, is copy a block of text to Word, highlight it, then copy it to Outlook. But, isn't it the same editor that's available to both so why don't I just have it in Outlook? What I do have is font name, size, color but no highlight. I've tried Tools->Customize->Format but it's not there. My text choices are plain and rich (if that's relevant; HTML is not a choice).

Thanks.

My daughter has an AT&T cell phone. I can tell you more about it, if that's relevant. It is not a smart phone. It does have the ability to play mp3 files.

We have mp3 files on our PC. I purchased a "USB-A Male to Micro USB-B Male Cable" from radio shack. I am using this to connect the phone to the computer. I didn't know what to do the first time I tried to copy files so I went back to Radio Shack and he told me just drag/drop files to the external drive. But, where? There is a folder structure, so there must be some specific folder I need to use. It's the F: drive, and then I have \Join Me with AutoRun.xxx files and an AutoPlay folder. Autoplay expands into \Docs, then \JoinMePlay and \JoinMePlay.exe and \USBPlay.exe, etc. \JoinMePlay has a setup program.

What do I need to run, if anything, to start? When I tried to drag/drop a file, just as a quick experiment, it said the F drive was full. It said I had no free space and it needed 41 MG of space. So obviously I am doing something wrong.

Radio Shack is closed right now or I'd call them. So I'm posting. Thanks if you can help.
