local directories

Hi,
is it possible to navigate through the local directories on my machine from within a browser? Basically I need to select a file from a directory or sub directory, and return the final location as a string. I have looked at IFRAME to embed the directory, but after I set the start up directory, when I click on a folder it comes up in a new window, which isn't what I want.

I would greatly appreciate any input on this.

what language are you using? you can easily make a directory listing with ASP, and there is a good one at http://www.asp101.com, and http://www.brainjar.com
