Why not put something more informative than question in the subject of the thread?

I know of several "John the Conquerer", most of which are fairly minor and of interest only to perverts.
Which particular one do you reference?

Ok, since now I know that you're talking about blues, John the Conqueroo is the nether stem part of St. John's Wort. In the Delta (and presumably the other parts of the deep south) this was a sovereign remedy against a voodoo hex of any sort.
Various local legends enable the root to blow up the spell (southern Florida) or deflect it (LA, MS and AL). In the deflection process of LA the spell would be deflected back onto the caster. In MS, the spell would search out the nearest person of color that resembled the object.
It was most often used in LA and FL.
Sorry about the spelling mistake, but it's very hard to tell on this board......
