    another problem

    hey..

ok i bought a santa cruz(they didnt have anymore SB Live! cards), and 2 more speakers, so its setup all l33tish with 6 speakers. my half-life keeps giving memory referencing errors on the "initializing and downloading" phase of connecting to a server when running A3D. it work on EAX, but EAX echos too much and stuff. one person said to rename the a3d dll in the HL folder, and that made to difference. any suggestions?

running the latest tbeach drivers, and A3D 3.12.

    cheers

well...to start off, there's no such thing as 6 speakers, only 5.1 (which is 5 speakers and a big old thing, which I forgot what it's called *thinks* damn, I've been away from my computer too long *end*). now, did you set up the sound card that you have 5.1 speakers?? if not, set that up. if it still doesn't work, make sure you have the lates update version(s) of half-life and/or the sound card drivers.

The EAX drivers install stuff in the start menu. Hunt around and you'll find entries for Environmental Sound. Just turn it completely off.
